isn't it strange?

Julie's pov.
I lay in the livingroom feeling shity. I have horrible period pain.
"Wanna go for a walk babe?" I hear Luke come in and I keep my eyes closed.
"No thanks" I whisper.
"Are you okay?"
I look up and see him kneeled down infront of me.
"Mhm" I mumble and he covers me with a blanket.
"Is it your period?"
I nod and see him walk out. Great! Men just don't understand what women go through every month.

"I made you tea" I open my eyes and see Luke with a tea and chocolate. Okay Luke is an understandable man.
"Aw thank you"
He puts the tea down on the table and sits down where my feet are.
"What can I do to make you feel better?" He asks and I smile a small smile.
"Can you bring me my warm socks from my closet?" I ask and he nods and walks out again. I don't deserve him he is so cute to me!

Luke's pov.
I walk in the livingroom with Julie's comfy socks and sit down again.
She is crying!
"Oh babe. Why are you crying?" I ask while I put her socks on.
"You are so cute and caring to me" She sobs and I get up and place a kiss on her forehead.
"I'll make you a hot towel" I walk out again.

With the warm towel on her lower tummy and her favorite movie on she seems a little better. I brush through her hair while Julie's head lays on my chest.
Towards the wnd of the movie I notice her breathe heavily and look down at my beautiful fiancee.
"Hey? You alright?" I ask and she nods.
"Do you need anything baby?" I put my hand on her arm and she shakes her head. Julie is the type of person who don't or rarely tell others that they are not feeling good or are in pain. I have to tell her over and over again that it's okay to say -I don't feel well-. I guess she just does this automatically since her mother passed away she blocks pain away too scared she is annoying people with her needs and feelings. Which is ridiculous.
"It's just really bad" she whispers and I notice a tear roll down her face.
I place one hand on her hot towel and she takes a deep breath.
"It isn't always that bad isn't it?" I ask and she just nods. I feel so bad for her.
"Do you want me to take you to the doctor?" I ask.
"No"
I kiss the side of her head and hope she feels better soon.

Hours later and she is on the couch crying again. I kneel down and brush her hair back behind her ear. She didn't even eat something and I made her a pizza!
"That's it I'm bringing you to your gynecologist!" I tell her and she shakes her head.
"No I don't want to go, it's going to be better soon Luke"
"You said that 3 hours ago too! Can you walk?" I pull her blanket away.
She just shakes her head and I take her up in my arms.

Julie's pov.
The pain I'm in is almost unbelievable. I always had bad period pain but this time it's really really bad.
The nurse just looked at my tummy and gave me some pain medicine which should do its work soon. Luke holds my hand and smiles at me nervously. The door opens and the doctor sits down on his chair with papers in her hands.
"Are you always in such bad period pain Julie?"
"Yes but this time it's way worse" I explain and she nods.
"Well we have the reason why. You have endometriosis"
"What's that?" Luke asks.
I've heard from it before but I don't really know what it really is.
"Endometriosis is a disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing pain and or infertility " she explains and I look up at Luke scared.
"But you can have surgery Julie. It's a simple one and it will help with the pain"
I close my eyes and feel Luke rub my back.
"Good thing you came in here today. We would recommend to schedule you up on the surgery. It's for your own best" the nurse says and I open my eyes again.
"What about the infertility?" Luke asks. We've never really talked much about having children but we both know we want some in the future.
"It can be treated but women with endometriosis have a big chance of infertility as it is with you Julie. Maybe the surgery will help a little but it's not a 100% sure that it helps. We should concentrate on the surgery and the rest follows after" she says and I nod.
"We marry in a few weeks so it would be good after that" I explain and she nods.
"Great! I'll email you more information"

Luke's pov.
Julie has been pretty quiet the whole car ride home. It's a shock for both of us. I definitely want children with Julie!
I help her lay down in bed and give her a kiss before I walk out and make dinner.
The whole time I cook my thoughts always spin around Julie and infertility.
I want kids and I know Julie wants some too, really bad. The doorbell makes me get back in reality and I walk to open the door. It's mom!
"Oh hey mom" I give her a hug and she smiles at me.
"I visited a old friend near you and thought I'd come over. I hope thats okay" she explains while we walk in the kitchen.
"Of course mom" I smile and put the fries in the oven.
"Want some coffee mom?" I ask and she sits down on a bar chair.
"Oh yes please"
I make her coffee and after that we just talk while I cook.

"Oh hi Emily" I look up and see Julie. She hugs my mom.
"Hey sweetie. Are you okay? You seem pale" she takes her hand and Julie nods.
"I made you fries and chicken" I explain and she gives me a small smile and sits down next to my mom.
I fill 3 plates up with food and sit down too.
"Thanks son" Mom smiles but Julie seems far away with her thoughts.

Julie's pov.
I play with the food and my thoughts are still spinning around the endometriosis stuff.
"Are you not hungry?" I feel Emily's hand on my arm and I shake my head.
"Not really" I look up from my food. I feel tears behind my eyes and try to keep them behind but they come out and soon I find myself crying in Emilys arms.
She rubs my back and whispers lovely words in my ear. I feel Luke's hand on my back too. I finally calm down after a while and Luke gives me a tissue to clean my nose and wet face. He places a kiss on my head and Emily looks worried.
"What's the matter my two?" She asks and I sigh and explain everything with Luke.

"Oh darling. I'm so sorry" Emily looks sad and I nod.
I sniffle and Luke takes my hand. It's warm and makes me feel safe and calm.
"It's going to be okay Julie" Emily rubs my back and I nod but it's hard to believe. Right now everything seems like a nightmare.
"A lot of women have endometriosis and have children and a pain free period. They're so many ways to help you darling. Just take it time to time. At first the wedding then the surgery and what comes next is in the future. Okay?"
I sigh and give her a little smile.
"Thank you Emily"
"You are so welcome sweetie"
I'm so glad Emily is here...
