You, were on the ground, knees to your chest and head down. You were shaking violently, and Dabi could hear your broken sobs. He then found himself next to you, he crouched down and tired to get a good look at you . But he couldn't see your face. "Hey." He said as he put his hand on your shaking shoulder, your body jerked, heading snapping up. Your eyes darting back and forth, looking for whatever touched you.

"Hey, snap out of it." Dabi tells you and he turns your head to face him, you flinched at his touch. Your breathing was uneven, tears flooded your eyes as the pooled out and down your cheeks. You couldn't focus, everything was so loud, your senses were kicked into overdrive.

Dabi didn't know what to do. He had never dealt with a person like this before. Sure he's seen people in this kind of state before he burnt them to a crisp, but he never had to actually talk one down from it.

However...he does know what it feels like. He hasn't known in a very long time, but he knows.

Dabi sighed before taking you into his arms, slightly rocking you as he rubbed your back. His voice was soft as he spoke. "You're alright. You're safe. You're going to be ok." Well, you would be, once he gets you out of this place. But first, he had to calm you down.

Dabi heard you speak, the tiniest peep left you, he couldn't make it out. "What was that?" He asked. "I-It's...It's h-happening again..." You said with a broken voice. "What's happening again?"

You didn't answer, only crying harder. Dabi continued to sooth you for what felt like forever before your shaking finally stopped. "Let's get you out of here." Dabi said before picking you up.

"Put the girl down!"

Dabi turned to see the two heroes from earlier. He scowled deeply. "I'm in no mood. Get out of my way." Dabi warned. The heroes didn't listen and went to attack him. Dabi held you close to his chest before blasting a wall of blue flame towards the heroes. While in the confusion, Dabi hurried towards the exit with you in his arms.

And just as he was about to escape, a flash of red was zipping towards him. He countered it with more fire. He looked down at his feet and saw red feathers being consumed by the flames. Dabi narrowed his eyes, he knew exactly who was responsible for that. Looking up, he saw no other than Hawks standing before him.

"Dabi." Hawks greeted him with a smirk, his feathered sword in hand. "The rest of the League here?"

"No. Just me." Dabi answers. You stir in his arms, he looked down at you, so does Hawks. "Let her go, before this gets ugly." Hawks warns Dabi.

"I'd listen to him."

"Dabi scowls at the new familiar voice. He glared at the man who walked in front of Hawks, no other than the number two hero, Endeavor, glared back. Dabi was no idiot, if he were to get into a serious fight right now, you would get hurt. So, he did as they said. He set you aside, leaned against a near by wall.

"Hawks, grab the girl." Endeavor tells him, Hawks nods and hurries to your unconscious body. He picks you up and runs for the exit, Dabi watching him the whole time.

"Your eyes should be on me." Endeavor says to Dabi. But before he attacked, he waited for Hawks to pass by. "You sure you got this yourself?" He asks. Endeavor nods. "You get that woman to safety, I'll deal with this hooligan."

"Hooligan? Really? You're such an old ass geezer, you know that?" Dabi flexed his hand before it was covered by flame.

Hawks spread his wings before flying up. "I'll be back to cover you." He said before flying away, Dabi watched as he left with Y/n.

"I said, your eyes should be on me!" Endavor said before attacking. Dabi was ready to attack as well.

You opened your eyes, you felt wind whipping against your face. Looking around you realized that you were...flying? Were you dreaming? You looked up and saw someone you didn't expect to see. Hawks, his eyes were set on what was in front of him. "Hawks?" You muttered. Hawks looked down and smiled. "You're awake. Are you hurt at all?" You blinked before shaking your head no. "That's good. You're one lucky gal. Not only were you not harmed in that explosion, but you were at the mercy of Dabi and lived."

"Dabi." Your eyes went wide as you remembered what happened back at your work. You were totally out of it, totally frozen in fear. And of all people, Dabi, was the one comforting you. "That's right, you could have been badly hurt or worse, dead." Hawks tells you. "Are you sure you're not hurt anywhere? You passed out."

You avoided Hawks' eyes, not wanting to admit that you had a panic attack so bad, it caused you to feint. "I'm fine. Really." You say firmly. "If you say so." Hawks dived down and landed. "You're far enough away from the building now. I should be getting back, my partner is back there fighting Dabi as we speak. I wanna get in on the action too."

"Who's you're partner?" You ask. "Why, only the number two hero Endeavor of course." Hawks says proudly. "Well, see you around." He waved before taking off into the sky. You watched as he flew away, you put a hand to your chest. Your heart still hasn't settled completely, your hands still shook. "Dabi..." You says under your breath. Why did he do that? He no reason to do what he did. He could have just left you there but, he didn't.

You decided to think about all that later, and head home for now. Once you got there, you went straight to your bedroom and hid yourself in the covers of your bed. Trying desperately to not cry, but memories of the past flooded your mind, and then came the tears.

"Stop it." You whimpered. "Just stop thinking about it." But you couldn't. The sight of your mother's corpse was all you could think about. The fact your mother gave her own life to save yours. You sobbed seemingly endlessly before finally falling asleep.

You woke up sometime later to foot steps growing closer to your bedroom door. You sat up, covers falling off her head. The door opened and in walked Dabi. He and you just stared at each other in silence for a while before Dabi walked over and sat on the edge of your bed. You moved the covers off before inching closer to him, Dabi stopped you before you got too close. "I don't need healing." He says to you. You nod before looking away.

And there was silence.

What could either of them say to each other, after what happened? Dabi had never did something like that to anyone before. And you had never experienced the feelings you had in that moment ever in your life. It was scary, for both of them.

"So." Dabi finally broke the silence. "You wanna tell me what happened back there?"

"Don't know, do you wanna tell me what happened back there?" You asked. Dabi shrugs. "I will if you will." You still didn't look at him, with a sigh, you began. "Well, I think it was pretty obvious I was having a panic attack." Dabi nods. "Mhm. I wanna know why."

"I told you my mother died right? Well, you died because the building we were in collapsed. There were...explosions, and the whole thing was coming down all around us. And..." Your voice cracked. "I...I don't wanna talk about this anymore actually."

"I get what you're trying to say." Dabi tells you.

"You're turn. Why did you do what you did? Comforting me like that." You ask him. Dabi took a moment to answer. "Can't have my only healer loosing her mind, can I?" Well, there's that answer for you. You knew it, of course it would be because of selfish reasons. What did you expect? A villain's heart had no room for in ounce of kindness.

"If you don't need healing, then get out of my room please. I'm tired." Dabi didn't try and argue, he stood up and walked out, shutting the door behind him. Dabi slumped against the door, his hand reaching to covering his face. He sighed heavily.

He really needed a cigarette.
