19. The Muggleborn

Info: Y/n is a supportive and nice person. Draco was teasing her because of her blood status. She was a muggle-born. One day when Bellatrix attacks them they find out the truth about their feelings.

Y/n and Draco were arguing again. Draco always was picking on her.

"Why are you even here Mudblood?" Draco looked into her eyes.

"What do you want Malfoy?" said annoyed Y/n.

"I just don't want you to be a wizard. Go and be with muggles, where you belong to." Malfoy hated Mudbloods and always picked on them.

"If you are a Pureblood, it does not make you any better than me." Y/n always believed that all wizards matter are equal.

"I will tell that. I'm better than you in million ways! I have a pureblood, rich, and loyal family. What do you have? Or who are you? You are a muggle-born!" Draco was almost yelling at her.

Y/n was sensitive to high sounds, especially when someone yelled at her. She got a little scared and zoned out. Flashbacks filled her mind.

*The Flashback*

"Take care Y/n. And be careful with Malfoys," said Y/n's mom, hugging and kissing her goodbye.

"Don't worry mom, I will be fine. There is no such thing as hating others who have different blood than you. We all are wizards. That can't happen." Y/n was so sure that everything will be alright.

"Darling, Malfoys are different please be careful and stay away from them," said Y/n's dad and hugged her.

"I still don't believe you, but I will be careful!" said Y/n and waved goodbye to her parents.

*End of the Flashback*

"They were right..." Y/n whispered to herself.

"What did you say?" Draco thought she said something rude to him.

"Nothing." Y/n tried to leave and don't argue later.

But Bellatrix suddenly appears in Hogwarts and is about to attack Draco with the full body-bind spell.

"Petrificus Totalus" she yells the spell and points her wand at Draco.

Y/n realized that Draco might get seriously hurt. Her caring character did not let her just stand aside and watch. She blocked the spell for Draco and instead she got hurt.

But Draco did not even notice Bellatrix because he was too busy picking on Y/n.

Draco only realized what happened when he saw Y/n jump in front of him to take the attack for him.

Y/n got paralyzed and fall on the floor. Draco caught her and looked at his aunt.

Bellatrix smiled and disappeared in black smoke before Draco could do something.

Draco takes Y/n to the hospital. And calls for help. Luckily Madam Pomfrey was there.

"What happened here?" Madam Pomfrey was a little shocked when she saw Y/n.

"Just help her please." Draco was so worried. He did not even realize why he cared so much about a Mudblood.

While Madam Pomfrey was helping Y/n, Draco was sitting outside of the hospital wing and thinking. Why did she help him? The question was torturing Draco. Why did he help her? Another question that could not leave him alone.

Are they enemies or not? Does he hate her or not? After a long time of thinking he finally realized what he truly felt and why he was always mean to Y/n.

It was all because of his father. His father told him about muggle-borns and how bad they can be. But Y/n is the sweetest and nicest girl he knows.

He always picked on her because his father thought him to do so. But now when he finally organized his inner thoughts and feelings he understood that he likes this girl.

"I should apologize," Draco whispered to himself and ran to the hospital wing.

Madam Pomfrey almost finished giving the needed portions and medicine to Y/n.

"You are just in time Draco! She can move her hands and speak. But she needs a little more time to move her legs and walk."

"Can I talk with her?" Draco needed permission from Madam Pomfrey. What if Y/n needed rest?

"Sure, go on! I'll leave you." Madam Pomfrey smiled and left.

Draco sat next to Y/n and hold her hand.

"Can you save your judgments for later? It's not the right time Malfoy." Y/n thought that Draco was here to tease her.

"No, no, no! I'm here to apologize," said Draco.

"Apologise?" Y/n's eyes widened and she could not believe what she heard.

Her parents had told her all about the Malfoy family and how they didn't like muggle-borns but she didn't believe any of it because she believed in friendliness in everybody. But when she eventually found out the truth about Malfoys at Hogwarts, it was hard to believe that Malfoy was now apologizing.

"Yes... I'm sorry that I treated you like that. I was not supposed to do that. It was all my father who thought me wrong things about muggle-borns. I'm so sorry. I think that you are nice, sweet, and beautiful."

"It's fine Malfoy. I forgive you..." Y/n never held hatred for someone, especially for those who apologized.

"Thanks Y/n. And if you... Or..." Draco did not know how to put the right words and tell her about his feelings.

"Come on Draco, what's the matter?" Y/n was guessing what he was trying to say.

"Okay, I like you Y/n," Draco said so fast. Then he closed his eyes. He could not see her reaction. He was not ready.

When he finally opened his eyes he saw a smiling Y/n.

"It was not that hard. Isn't it?" said Y/n and giggled. "I like you too."

Draco hugged her and kissed her forehead. They became lovers after that.
