The Promise:Time and Death

Chapter 10

After they finished eating they went their separate ways to their rooms. While In her room Tris got her dry erase board and began to write down all her clues and questions. So far she figured out that he is going to be an underground boxer, and he is going to be in debt to the tall man with icy blue eyes , and she also knows that he went to that abandoned building that caused her to time travel back in time. Tris thought about who could want her brother dead or out of the way, maybe it was Oliver. He was acting really weird that night at the match, but then again it could be the tall bulky man with the tattoo on his neck that she saw the first time in the abandoned building. But then again the man with the blue eyes could have done it or got someone to if you actually think about it. He was the only one who really had a motive to kill or hurt her brother. Spending 2 hours trying to figure out any clues she may have missed but she didn't so she decided that the next day she will have to follow Will.
At 10:00 the next night there was a knock at Tris's bedroom door ,saying come in Will popped his head in the door. " Hey Tris I'm going out and I don't know what time will be back but probably some time in the morning" " Call me if you need me and don't do anything I would do" He joked " Ok where are you going? " " Umm just out with some friends, I'll be back later" he said cautiously " Ok then have fun" With that Will left out of the apartment, and down the elevator to the parking lot and got in his car. Quickly Tris got up and ran out of her room but not forgetting to grab her phone and wallet, then she proceeded out of the door locking it behind her. Ducking behind cars so her brother wouldn't see her she quickly and quietly gets to her car. Pulling off William began his journey and unknowingly Tris was following him. Arriving at the Underground fight club Will got out and headed in the building's locker room to get prepared when his best friend Oliver approached him while walking in the locker room. " Hey man you made it" Oliver greeted giving him a guy hug. " Yeah I decided to come, i had to lie to Tris though" Will said with a sad expression on his face " I know but you had too" " she wouldn't understand,but when it is the time she will be ok and if not she'll get over it" Oliver replied nonchalantly " yeah you're right " Will replied still feeling guilty. After wishing Will good luck he left Will standing there. Will didn't know at the time how this could affect Tris in more ways than he thinks. He didn't know that all of the lying he will do in the future will have a huge impact on their relationship and for him.Will didn't know that time wasn't on his side and starting that day it will only get worse from there. Will exited the locker room and waited for when it was time for him to fight. Tris parked down further from Will and she got out of the car following Will inside but leaving a good distance between the two so she wouldn't get caught. Outside the locker room with her ear to the door she heard Oliver's and Wills conversation. Moving quickly away from the door and turning away from it as it opened and out walked Oliver. Tris having a weird feeling in her stomach she followed Oliver.Oliver approached Wills opponent and he was paid a thousand dollars for telling the opponent all of Will's weak spots and moves. Tris was confused on why Oliver was getting a thousand dollars, but before she thought any further the match was about to start so Tris ducked and ran to the back out of sight. Will lost the last match and then Tris figured out that maybe Oliver was paid for giving away Will's moves.
After getting his butt whooped in the last round Will went to the locker room and got cleaned up before heading home. But before he left a man burst through the door of the locker room looking furious. Seeing the man Tris knew exactly who it was, The blue eyed man she met in the present time. The man was furious because he lost 10,000 dollars betting on Will to win that night. Will now scared, knew he had to do more fights and everything he could to get him his money. " You better win these next fights because if you dont you will be owing me money for the rest of your pathetic life and if i don't get my money at a decent time " stepping closer to where they was face to face minus the 4 inches the blue eyed man had on William " I will kill you with my bear hands" He spat viciously "And I will make your sister watch and afterwards I will kill her too" he whispered in his ear" Do you understand" "Y-Yes" Will stuttered " Good I'm happy we are on the same page" and with that He walked out. Will didn't know how to feel but he knew he had to do whatever he had to, to keep his sister safe and himself because he doesn't want her alone. Sitting there for a good 30 minutes thinking and reflecting on what just happened he still couldn't wrap his head around it. But he checked the time and he realized it was 1:30 in the morning so he got up and headed home.
