The Promise:Time and Death

Chapter 11

After the man walked out of the locker room Tris left and started to drive home trying to beat Will there.Tris heard everything that the man said to her brother and she didn't know how to feel, a part of her was furious at Oliver for making that deal and she was sure that it's the reason why Will lost, she was also mad at Will for doing this fighting thing in the first place, but then she was sad because Oliver was backstabbing Will in the back and he is oblivious to the whole situation. But she was more sad at the fact that her brother's life was threatened and there was nothing she could do about it. Arriving home before her brother, she went to her room and laid down and thought about everything that has happened so far but she decided to get some rest for now. An hour later Will walked through the apartment door and before going to his room he peaked in Tris's room to check on her. Finding her sleeping peacefully he smiled but then he stopped and whispered " I will find a way out of this I promise but if I don't I will make sure you live" " I love you Bubbles". Closing her door and walking to his room, shutting his own door he sat on his bed holding his dog tags that said: Even if time had different plans and paths for us, I promise I will never leave, But if I have to leave I promise that I will find my way back to you. He bought these dog tags for Tris's 12th birthday and ever since then neither of them took them off. When they were younger he made her this very promise that was written on their tags and he will never break it. Going to bed he dreamed. As the days went on Everything was the same but getting worse at the same time. Tris was still following Will trying to learn any information she could, Will was starting to leave late and come back in the morning and on some occasions he didn't come back until maybe 2 or 3 days after. He started to lose more fights except for 3 but so far the rest he lost coming down the last round. Oliver still got paid for telling Will's opponents all his tricks and weak places all while smiling in Will's face. The blue eyed man was losing more money and was even more furious. And Will was now in 100,000 dollars in debt almost a month later. And Tris is getting more anxious because her time is winding down.
July 2 was here and Tris was trying to come up with plans on how to help her brother but one thing she did do was get jobs so she could help him out, she had gotten multiple but without him knowing of course. Coming out of her room she saw Britney on the couch talking with Will. " Hi Tris" Britney greeted cheerfully " Hi Brit I didn't know you were here" Tris answered before Britney could answer Will said " I called you but you were apparently too busy" he chuckled. Rolling her eyes she went to the kitchen and fixed her sandwich. Tris, Will, and Brit talked for a while until Brit left but Tris and Will continued. After talking for 3 hours Tris couldn't help but feel warm inside because she missed during this with her brother. She wished all of this didn't happen, but it's too late now and she will not give up. July 4th came and they watched fireworks up on the hill of their favorite place.Neither of them have been up there in a long time but it was their place that couldn't be taken away from them. While watching the fireworks they started laughing about old memories. As the week went by Will became more distant and secretive and Tris noticed even if she knew about everything he was doing. One day out of the week Britney came acting differently. It was like she was a different person but Tris didn't say anything because she didn't think it was her place.
