Chapter 20: Kill the Little Sister {🗡🍋}

~Night Raid Hideout~
*(Y/N) (L/N) POV*

So far... the entire mood within Night Raid... was silent. Way too silent for any normal day in Night Raid. Currently, it was the night we saved Tatsumi from his execution at the hands of Esdeath. Though we lost two comrades in one day... Susanoo, he sacrificed himself so that we could get away when the mission was complete, and he died at the hands of Esdeath. Then... the hardest loss for all of us... Mine. The ones most affected by her death happened to be Sheele, Chelsea, and Tatsumi. Myself included since Mine and I both admitted our friendship was more of a sibling relationship, though we never admitted it before, but we finally acknowledged each other as brother and sister. For Sheele and Chelsea, they both lost a best friend. But Tatsumi... he lost someone who was his soulmate, his heart was broken, and we can see that. I did my best to comfort them, both as my brother and my two lovers, but the scar was deep, and it will never go away. Najenda was smoking one of her cigarettes and was silent, still recovering from her fight with Esdeath, but also losing Susanoo. While most of everyone stood, with the exception of Najenda sitting on her chair, I sat, slumping on the floor with my arms lazing upon my knees. This was a difficult time for all of us, though Tatsumi wasn't too happy with all this. I get it, we lost Susanoo and Mine, but... Honestly, I didn't have any words to say. Except the only good thing that came from this tomfuckery, Great General Budo was dead, and I had recovered his Imperial Arms, Adramelech, while Akame had stolen one of the Imperial Arms mentioned from Zanku's notes, Galatine's Saber. I still had to check them for their perfect matches, but I wasn't in the mood.

"But why?" Tatsumi questioned. "Why would you allow them to die just to save me?"

"Get over yourself," Najenda says, not in the mood to hear Tatsumi's complaining. Hell, neither was I. Not one of us were. Tatsumi was confused by Najenda's reply to him and he turned to Najenda. "If we hadn't stopped that execution, it would've seriously damaged the Revolutionary Army's morale. Besides, everyone participated of their own free will."

"Yeah, well, that's not the point." Tatsumi comments as I shook my head. Najenda blows some smoke from her cigarette.

"Furthermore... we managed to eliminate a long-standing obstacle when we killed Great General Budo," Najenda states which was a good sign for the Revolutionary Army. "As an added bonus, (Y/N), I don't know how you managed to pull it off, but you managed to steal and recover Adramelech. Akame, you stole an Imperial Arms from right under the Empire's nose, Galatine's Saber. (Y/N), when you get a chance, you know what to do."

"Yeah." I replied not wanting to check right now.

"We've gained a lot from this mission." Najenda comments, which was true, but the cost was great.

"Uh! Is that all that matters to you?!" Tatsumi questioned Najenda.

"Tatsumi, that's enough," I spoke gaining attention. "We're all hurting from this, not just you. You need to realize that this entire deal has been hard on Najenda as well. I'm not saying that because Najenda's my lover, but she, like the rest of us, lost someone. She lost Susanoo."

"These things happen," Najenda says after blowing smoke, but I knew she was holding her emotions in. "It was doing its job as a weapon, that's all."

I knew Najenda didn't mean her words, but her pain was showing and those were the words that'd came out.

"Poor Su." Tatsumi softly says.

"As the living, it is our responsibility... to carry out the wishes of the ones who are gone." Akame says, which she wasn't wrong.

"I... I don't know if I can." Tatsumi admits.

"Tatsumi..." Chelsea speaks as she wipes a tear away. "It may be heavy, but it's a burden we all have to share, and we can't just abandon that. It wouldn't be fair for Su, nor Mine."
