Ep 14: Darkness Shall Rise

(Y/n)'s POV:

We walked to meet some woman that can give us a place to stay. I think her name is Patty? She was showing a small apartment, “This one-bedroom, one-half-bath is a cozy dream. Who needs extras when everything is in arm's reach? Now, wait until you see the lighting.” she said and flipped the lightswitch, the light bulb flickered and fell on the floor.

“Uh, who needs lights when you have this view? Heh.” She pulled the blinds on the window to reveal it being covered with bricks. “Uh, why do I smell old people?” Lloyd asked, I snicker at his reaction, “Look, doll. I'm trying to work around your budget. This is all you can afford.” she said, “Ooooo you made her piss- OW!” I whispered it to Lloyd but I guess Zane heard it because he looked at me with small glare then walked away, my head hurts from the smack.

“Uh, this looks… promising. Remember, guys, Sensei told us our main objective is to train Lloyd and (Y/n), not kick our feet up in some swanky suite. If this is all we can afford, this is all we can afford.”  Cole stated, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, let's not rush into any decision. I mean, if it's really all about them, don’t we need to live in some place that'll make training easier?” Jay suggested.

“Yeah, Jay's right. If we have to get the twins ready to save Ninjago from their father, shouldn't they at least have their own rooms?”  Kai added, “Technically, that does not matter, they only-” Zane was gonna say something until Kai stopped him, “We're only thinking about the children, hehe.” Jay said.

“I do have another property that you'll just love.” Flatty Patty said as she took us to a place with an elevator. The door opened as awe filled the air, “Now, this is the eight-bedroom Hero Suite. Floor-to-ceiling windows, digital wall television, state-of-the-art game console.” she says.

“Uh, it seems a little out of our price range.” Cole said a bit nervous, “Oh, sure it costs a little more, but you deserve it. I forgot to mention, there's also a Dragon keep on the roof.” she added, “Nice.” Kai commented.

“Maybe we can get a hero discount. After all, we are the ninja who saved the city.” Jay said, “I thought Lord Garmadon saved the city.” Krabby Patty said, Jay crossed his arms, “Hmph!”

“We could get day jobs to pay for the extra expenses.” Kai suggested, “We always said we could use a little more responsibility.” Zane added, “But we have to train the twins.” Kai stated, “Bro, make up your mind.” I said with a bit of an annoyed tone, “Did I mention the in-house training facility?” Krusty Musty Krab Flatty Krabby Patty added, she pressed a button on the remote to reveal the room with fighting equipment.

“We’ll take it!” The four yelled, I shook my head slowly, “This might not end well…” 

(Time skip)

Lloyd and I stay in the apartment while the four get jobs, Jay is a pizza delivery guy, Cole is a bank security guard, Zane is a chef, good for him because he makes the best food and Kai for some reason a party entertainer.

While the others were busy working I was actually the only one training Lloyd, well only the stuff I have learned. Of course we take breaks by playing around and playing video games.

The guys came back and looked exhausted, Lloyd was punching a bag, he wasn’t paying attention so he got hit in the face and fell, I giggled.

I walked into the room where the others are, “So how did your day- I think I got my answer…” I said with sympathy, Cole had his feet in a bucket with ice, Kai flopped on the couch with a dirty face, Zane was moving around with an oil can and Jay was laying on the floor reaching for the controller, “My feet... I can't feel my feet.” Cole complained.
