Before time began, there was the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life.

That is how our race was born.

For a time, we lived in harmony, but like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil. And so began the war, a war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death, and the Cube was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home, searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, a message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown planet called Earth.

"YAP YAP!" Thanks Fever.

This freaking dog. "Mojo shut up!" I yelled at the tiny dog, effectively making him whimper and run out of the room. The dog never stopped, like ever. He always came into my room to bark, just mine. He slept in Sam's room and barked in mine. My clock read six-thirty am, so I rolled over and closed my eye, only planning to be in bed for a few more minutes.

A minute later, or what I thought was a minute later, I opened my eyes as footsteps shook the floor and became louder as they seemingly got closer to my room. "Ange! Wake the fuck up! We're going to be late for school!" I jolted upright. Sam himself was still in his pajamas. He ran out of the room, sliding across the floor in his socks to get back to his room. My clock read seven-thirty. We are supposed to leave the house at seven-forty. I rolled off my bed and grabbed the closet pair of pants and started to pull them on as I hopped around my room to gather my stuff. "Lea, Sammy let's go!" Ron's voice drifts up the stairs.

"One minute!" I shouted. My backpack was in my hands and shoes were half on my feet as I walked out of my room. Sam met me at the top of the stairs. "Got everything?"

"Yes." He said, pointing to the bag he took out of my room last night. He then started to laugh.

"What?" At my confusion, he points down at my pants. When I looked, I started laughing as well. The pants I had grabbed were leggings with little Bulbasaur's on them. 'You don't like my outfit, Sam? Is that what you're saying?" I gently shove him away from me and start down the stairs. Sam follows me laughing as he tries to come up with a counterstatement.

"You know what? Maybe I do have an issue. We all know Eevee is superior."

"What? No." On the way to school I could tell we were annoying Ron, this was not the first time we have had this argument. I could tell Ron was more than pleased to kick us out of the car. "Good luck on your Genealogy report", Ron said as he pulled up near the school "Remember, you've got to get that A". Ah yes, the deal. Sam had to get an A on his report today. This would be the third 'A' he needs to complete his end of the deal. If he could get 3 'A's on the big projects and $2,000 dollars, Ron would help buy him his first car. Sam had already secured the money and two A's, he just needed to get this third one. Not that Ron will ever know, but I helped Sam with the first two 'A's.

Sam sighed as he took in Ron's words. "I want to get a car."

I patted Sam's shoulders in comfort as we walked up the steps to the school. "I know, why do you think I helped you research and prep for this report?" I asked. Being the great person I am, I offered my help. We spent weeks gathering research on our great-great-grandfather, the subject of his report, and making sure he'd got all his facts straight for the presentation. It was a lot of calls, hours on hold with the retirement home that held our grandmother in New York and being told to spell our last name again.

"I know, I know." Sam smiled, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "And I am very thankful for you."

"You better be."
