Chapter 2: Fatui Work, Home Work

The meeting was in a dark but light room, cold, but the silent but hostile atmosphere was beginning to soak through as nothing but the cold winds howled outside.

Each harbinger was just ready for the other to say a word, to silence them if they do or say something stupid in their personal judgment.

But they all were also ready to say the first words in case no one else was brave to venture the unknowns.

The doors opened and they all turned to see Scapino being carried by a Fatui Pyro Agent, and they were carefully placed down from a few yards away.

Scapino then suddenly realized that their little bow tie was out of place, crooked, they quickly turned to the agent who quickly fixed their bow tie and bowed to the harbingers before leaving quickly.

Scapino then went over to the large table, a little confused on where they will sit before they quickly got scooped up by Pantalone, he was amused by Scapino already melting in his arms as his hand was massaging their back and neck.

But the others weren't very happy with Scapino being hogged so La Signora snatched them away, Scapino already knowing where this was going so before they were snatched by Sandrone, Scapino struggled with Signora before hopping off and going over to Pierro and they did their small grabbing gesture, Pierro dutifully picked them up.

Usually in rare meetings like this, the lowest harbingers' already scarce time with the moth getting interrupted suddenly by the higher ranked stealing the moth away.

And frankly after quite a while it was starting to become not so amusing anymore.

As the meeting progressed with fatui workers telling they many reports, missions that were currently underway or recently completed and shipments of supplies and exports.

Scapino always wondered if one day they could become a harbinger, or at least oversee a mission of their own.

Maybe follow their example of pleasing the Tsaritsa and get some good information on the other nations.

But unfortunately they still had studies to go over and they don't have their big break until they either were very sick which is almost impossible or the harbinger Pierro himself cease them until he sees that Scapino shows promising results.

Which is basically impossible......

Scapino honked quietly, a small sigh, they wanted to see the the other nations already, and they will be damned if it meant that they would be grounded.

They puff out their chest as they exited out the room, taking a stride only to by nabbed by Columbina giggling as the moth honked multiple times, demanding to be let down.

Columbina just smiled as she entered and locked the door before sitting Scapino down an a tiny table along with stuff animals that were exactly the same size as Scapino, sitting on tiny chairs and on the table were sweets and crumpets.

Columbina was sitting behind Scapino, seemingly watching like this was a small puppet show.

Scapino was more invested in the sweets so they got a crumpet that was drizzled with chocolate sauce and powdered sugar, filled their tea cup with hot cocoa before putting some crumpets on the other plates.

Columbina giggled a bit as Scapino seemed to be talking to the stuff animals, seemingly like it was business meeting.

Scapino's Pov

It was a meeting with their assistants, Scapino was making an announcement about their upcoming mission of that was given by the Tsaritsa herself.

It was their first mission so far and it was important that they didn't fail.
