Chapter 9: The Twins

Kazuha hummed in amusement as he picked up the moth who was looking confused bc thought that Aether had a long lost brother or something.

Beidou cooed at the moth, Scapino felt a bit bashful in the presence of the strong woman, reminding them about Teth (forest elder).

"Hello little one! Are you ready for your first ever boat ride?" Said Beidou as she picked up Scapino and threw them up in the air.

Scapino held out their arms while honking excitedly at the prospect of riding over the waters to see the land of the electro archon.

They were amazed to see the crew and the large ship running around like a little chick exploring their small world of green. They hopped onto the wooden crates to see Liyue harbor, the moth smelled something in the air and honked, Paimon seemed to understand quickly.

"Ooo, Paimon smells food!! Can we go back to Liyue just a bit!?" Whined Paimon, Aether reluctantly agreed as soon as Scapino joined in.

"I will join you as well, the smell is delectable." Said Kazuha.

"Scapino really does enjoy crab legs." Said Kazuha as Scapino greedily devoured their dish alongside Paimon.

Aether just sighed in amusement.

"Now that the crazy stuff in Liyue is over, Paimon thinks that we should enjoy ourselves in the short time before we head to Inazuma to see the Electro Archon." Said Paimon as she finally finished her sticky honey roast.

Scapino honked in agreement.

As the two boys talked about their experiences, Scapino was cleaning themselves up of the grease, letting go of the dirtied napkin before shivering from the cold winds..... wait were those clouds always there?

Scapino felt sand on them, the trio quickly noticed Scapino's unease with the surroundings.

"Are you alright Scapino? Strange, why are they like that?" Asked Paimon in worry.

"They noticed something, something that doesn't seem to make them comfortable." Said Kazuha as he finally noticed the sky turning into a dark green as the winds turned dead.

Scapino shivered when they noticed a blue light piercing through the sky, suddenly the trio felt the chills of a memory.

Through the sands and muck, a blue light traversed through the lands until it turned red at a small creature of light and a small being like Scapino.

Screams were heard before a loud crash ceased it all, and where the sky kid was, a blue plant grew in place of a grey corpse.

The trio blinked out of the memory before seeing that Scapino was gone, they were running away!

The blue light followed Scapino as a black body slithered through the clouds, legs wriggling like a centipede crawling through the ground to reach its prey.

"Scapin-" Said Paimon before stopping instantly to see the blue light turning red, stopping at Scapino who was still, looking scared to death.

The creature suddenly dropped from the sky, screaming a horrid sound as it chased after Scapino who was still like it was incapable of moving.... Before-

CLASH!!!*

Childe grabbed Scapino and grabbed the dragon by the horn and materialized a sword made of water before piercing its eye entirely making the dragon screech unholily as it began to disintegrate into nothing.
