Chapter 4: To Spread your Wings

It had been awhile since the incident and Scapino was back to their studies though they recoiled from visiting the other harbingers never leaving the comfort of their room.

They ignored the chalkboard seeing that was like seeing a reminder of the incident.

They eat less and grew a bit resentful of themselves seeing as this was their own fault their mind gave in to their foolish desire to be a fatui member.

They now see fighting with a fearful distaste, they shifted from time to time uncomfortably.

Though they keep up with appearances and still act happy they continued to feel disgusted with themselves, why was it unable to feel that feeling of shame and guilt when facing the harbingers.

"Scapino? Scapino? Are you alright?" Asked Columbina when Scapino only stared down at the table at the crumpet on their plate, for once Scapino excused itself and left the room.

Columbina looked at the crumpet, this was usually taken by Scapino if they were leaving early, they never leave food behind.

Perhaps they grew bored of the same thing?

Scapino finished their studies but they continued to read the books not wanting to face anyone today, for the 15th time.

The same large book that showed the history of Teyvat, they resented the pictures.

They closed the book and they walked away in a hurry to the library to find another book, one without pictures.

When they finally picked the book out they noticed that someone was approaching the doors, they quickly hid behind the darkest shadows and large furniture, their glow reduced to a dim.

They peeked out to see that it was Dottore, they honked before getting out of their hiding spot, at least it wasn't Capitano or Pierro.

They went past him and back to their room where they read their book for the entirety of the day, if it wasn't for chatter of nearby grunts accompanying La Signora to a mission to Mondstadt.

Scapino pretended to be annoyed, though they couldn't help but listen, they talked about how they mission was about a gnosis, whatever that was, but what caught them was the promise of seeing the Anemo Archon and a Dragon plaguing their lands.

A dragon? Like the ones....... Actually it doesn't remember why it even had familiarity with the term.

But seeing a dragon was so much more interesting than seeing those in drawings.

But it soon felt guilt again and the idea of making Pierro disappointed with them.

But the thoughts of the other harbingers arose, they never came to their aid, their faults then rose up, making the moth's growing resentment more intense.

It was all a flash for them, picking the other lock, grabbing their key, and the window was open the breeze welcoming them again.

The moth looked back for a moment before, out of spite stuff their toy underneath their blanket, making it seem that they never left.

The moth closed the windows locked them from the outside and flew off, following the 8th harbinger on her journey to mondstadt.

Hiding in Signora's transportation, the moth peeked out to see the world around them change, from the snowy lands of Snezhnaya to the warm and windy scenery of Mondstadt.

As soon as no one was watching, the moth sneaked out and flew up into the sky and landed on top of the cathedral looking down at the city around them except there weren't really any people, few people were walking around.

This dragon problem was really out of hand, that was for sure.

They watched from afar, seeing everything that was happening, people checking out the grocery store, walking around for a small stroll, a duo walking to the giant statue alongside a floating humanoid-

The moth tilted its head before flapping its wings and hovered over them before landing right after Amber gifted Aether with his very own wing glider.

At first they were surprised by the presence of the moth, seeing that it was obvious that it wasn't from around here, but Amber was suddenly overtaken by the urge to pick up the moth and play with it.

"Awwww, they have a cute little outfit!" Said Amber as she gushed about the bow tie.

"Paimon isn't the only Paimon anymore!" Said Paimon, excited to see another being that was the size of a toddler.

Then suddenly the dragon appeared!

Aether was caught up in a tornado and the moth was dragged away by Amber.

Then Scapino noticed Kaeya during the battle and after Aether was gliding back down and now they were in the Knights of Favonious building meeting up with Jean and Lisa.

Scapino was squished a couple of times by Lisa who complemented on their fancy little bow tie.

Scapino's glow beamed for a few minutes all while Scapino was acting a little bashful.

But of course Scapino was forced to stay in the building while the knights go out and take care of the Stormterror business.

The moth was happily walking around and doing zoomies in the library until they ran into Albedo, the moth touched their head before feeling Albedo's hands holding them up looking confused but intrigued by the moth's appearance.

"I haven't seen you before, apologies for picking you up all of the sudden, I am Albedo, Alchemist of the knights." Said Albedo, as he placed the moth down near a table where his sketchbook was, the moth honked, catching him a little off guard.

"How interesting, since you don't seem to grasp the concept of speech, how about you write down your name." Said Albedo as he turned to a blank page and gave a pencil to the moth.

The moth pulled the book closer before writing down their name in surprisingly neat handwriting.

After they were done they gave it to Albedo while kicking their legs lightly around, looking at the many books on the shelves.

"Scapino...... what a name for someone unique, though it seems that you are too small to go around mondstadt alone, how about you come with me to dragonspine so I could learn about you?" Asked Albedo, Scapino agreed, excited to explore Mondstadt a further without the suspicion of fatui.

"Lord Scapino? Are you alright? You've been in bed for a while, it's time for-" Said Alina as she approached the bed and pulling down the covers to see that she was bamboozled by a stuffed animal.

"Oh no." Said Alina, just in time for Columbina to come in to see the grunt looking like the world was gonna end while the stuff animal was still not moving.

The two stared at each other, before panic arose with the duo.
