Much to Imelda's liking, Slytherin won the quidditch match against Hufflepuff. "I wonder if Felix will celebrate with us tonight." Imelda says, checking herself out in the ladies' bathroom mirror. I lean against it, arms folded. Not nearly as excited for this as I was the first party I had ever went to. When Sebastian took me from behind against his dormitory bed. I blush at the thought.
I pretend to act normal at the talk of Felix, although I really am weary of him. "I'm sure he will, you should go for it Imelda. Although I will say, I had noticed you cozying up to Ominis lately." I raise my eyebrow at her.
"Ominis?" Imelda completely stops whatever it is she's doing to her eyelashes and turns towards me. "You think I fancy Ominis?" She says throwing me an offended look.
"Why not? You seem to have a lot in common." I say turning towards her, still leaning against the sink.
"What could you possibly think I have in common with Gaunt?" Imelda asks.
"Oh I don't know, both tight wads, smart ass, play by the rules kind of people." I flash a grin at her. She turns the sink on and splashes water at me. "Hey!" I yell at her, trying to brush the water off of my dress. I'm wearing a long sleeved velvet dress, in a deep forest green. It hugs my hips and trails tightly down my thighs, stopping right at my knees. It's nothing fancy. But having this little "soirée" as Sebastian calls it, allows me the chance to dress up for once. I don't get this chance too often. Imelda and I are both wearing our hair down, and I let her put a little bit of red lipstick on me. She's in a black dress made of soft silk that falls to the floor. For Imelda being as rough of a woman she is, she can clean up pretty well.
We both turn our heads as we hear music starting to play from the common room. I smile at her, and she grabs my hand leading us out of the bathroom.
The common room is nothing like it was the night of the 4 house party. But it is still lively. There's Slytherin laughing and talking together, some sitting some standing. Imelda walks down the stairs towards the common room and her quidditch buddies all start to cheer and grab her up in hugs, spinning her around.
It brings me so much happiness to see her like this. To see them all like this. As I'm watching them all, scanning the room, I stop when I'm met with a familiar pair of amber eyes. He's standing at the fireplace where we first introduced ourselves to each other. His mouth turns upward, and I immediately start crossing the space to get to where he is. I'm stopped short by a rather large shadow. I look up to meet the cold eyes of Felix Lestrange.
"What is it with you and wanting to get in my way?" I snipe up at him, squinting my eyes.
"Where do you actually have to be right now? We're in the middle of a party." He says to me, looking around. "Ah, I see. The one that always looks like he wants to gauge my eyes out." I follow his stare and see Sebastian gripping his glass so hard he might break it.
"Well, to be fair, you always seem to be staring at me enough that you'll end up burning holes through me." I say looking back up at him.
"You're right. But I think I'm not the only one feeling that way." He leans in closer and lowers his voice. "I know you felt that shock when we shook hands."
"I really have no clue what you're talking about." I say trying to play it off.
"Don't play that with me. I know all about you, you're not a fool." He says down at me.
"If you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be. Which is anywhere that you're not blocking my path." I begin to brush past him when he grabs my arm, stopping me.
"I think we need to continue this conversation another time, and I believe you do too." He says low so only I can here. I freeze, I get the feeling he knows much more than I was hoping for. I roughly pull my arm away from him.
