Felix and I had been training with Sharp for hours now, exhausted was an understatement. We were fighting using our magic against each other.
"Again." Sharp orders. I stand there panting while Felix was perfectly composed. It pissed me off.
I grunted, running towards him and hurling my magic at him with my right arm. He deflected it using his wand with Protego and threw another with his left hand back at me. I shot my magic at it causing a mini explosion mid air. "Expelliarmus!" I shot at him, sending his wand flying.
"Your magic only!" Sharp yelled at me, arms crossed and standing to our side. Every so often he would pace back and forth, watching us intently.
Felix slowly walked to his wand to pick it up, as I turned to Sharp. "Oh, come on! He used Protego."
"A defensive shield may be used, but we are trying to focus on your magic. That will be your most effective weapon." Sharp yelled back, shooting me down.
I groaned and face back towards Felix who was smirking at me, walking closer to Sharp and I. "Having a hard time keeping up, little sis?"
I had faced many enemies over the past 1-2 years. I never had a problem overcoming battles, easy and difficult as they were. And yet here I was, standing against my pain in the ass older brother, the perfect match for my abilities and strength. "I cannot wait to wipe that look right off your face." I entered a ready stance again.
"Begin." Sharp said sternly.
I waited for a moment, calculating. But he didn't move. He stood there, folding his hands in his pockets. "What are you doing?" I yelled at him, growing aggravated.
"Not much of a threat, give it your best shot." I forgot about training entirely and sprinted towards him, fists balled with magic, and tackled him. Or at least tried to. We started engaging in a full on fist fight with each other, our magic crashing and zapping into each other's fists as we dodged each hit.
"Aaagh!" I reached back my arm to deliver him one final blow, to which he threw his palm out to catch with magic in his own hand. It collided, exploding into a burst of silver and blue, closely resembling lightning.
We were both forced back, him catching himself with his arms to a leaning upright position. And me, not so gracefully falling onto my side and pushing myself up with one hand. We looked at each other, stunned, then both looked at Sharp.
He had his hand pressed to his head, obviously growing tired of our antics. "I would suggest you two do not try that again. We don't know how catastrophic it could be if you combined your two magics together. It's already difficult enough for you to control it." He lowered his hand. We hear a loud creaking noise in the distance and each of us look up into the sky. A long-eared owl flies directly towards us and perches on Sharps arm, it's talons digging into it. How it doesn't hurt Sharp, I'm not sure, other than the fact that he is used to it. Sharp grabs the scroll from the owl, who takes off in flight again. He scans over the letter, mouth held open.
He rolls it back up and burns it with a flick of his wand, I assume it is so the message is not traceable. "The ministry has responded. They are sending the aurors to Marunweem. They have ordered that we join them in fighting, y/n." I nod at him, I already know of my duty to them. Regardless of the fact that I would have gone there to fight even if the ministry wasn't involved.
"How many aurors are there?" Felix asks Sharp.
"There's 23. Two squads of ten, two leaders per squadron, and one lead auror." Sharp responds. Plus Sharp, Felix, and I. We are severely outnumbered, however we have the plus side of fighting alongside the strongest and most skilled wizards in the lands here. I'd say we have a good chance of putting up a fair fight. I already know Sebastian is not going to let me go alone, which will be a conversation I shall have with him later.
