Sebastian POV

Felix and I look at each other, both of us displaying a slightly concerned look on our faces. We start walking in her direction.

"Y/n?" Felix calls out to her. No answer.

I pick up my pace a bit, and we finally near the end of the lit torches. I round a corner of highly stacked furniture, treasures, whatever they may be.

"What is that.." Felix starts to say. I look around us and see nothing out of the ordinary.

I turn my direction back towards him and find him whipping his head to the sides.

"Bloody hell is wrong with you?" I ask him.

"This must be what Y/n described.." He starts to say. Then it all pieces together.

Y/n had shared every detail of the ancient magic with me, down to a science. She told me of the trails she has to face with the Keepers, and explained our 5th year how the magic would appear to her. She called them "hotspots" of magic, where it would speak to her in whispers. Y/n would use it to reveal portals through the ancient magic itself.

Surely she had explained this all to Felix, and that is what he's experiencing now.

"A hotspot. It's a hotspot of ancient magic. What do you see, Felix?" I ask him, eager to get to wherever Y/n is.

The trials with the Keepers were always dangerous, the thought it sends my heartbeat into a race.

"Some sort of mirage, a glass wall of sorts. I see a room through it, it's rather massive." Felix says while surveying the blank wall before us.

"I'm really not quite sure how Y/n would do it, but she would use her ancient magic to activate it. Allowing entry. Try it." I fidget my fingers and try to control my breathing to remain calm, and patient.

Felix steps forward to the blank wall and raises his palm which fills with his silver magic. He presses his palm against the wall and sure enough, it reveals the same kind of "door" as I had witnessed with her before.

"Come on." I say, immediately stepping through without a second thought in mind.

The room is even more grand than Y/n had ever painted the image for me. On the floor before us lie crumbles of stone and heavy plated armor. She had been battling here.

"The statues, just like she had described." Felix says while he's stepping before me and looking closely at each one.

"Precisely. Come on." I briskly walk past him. I want to find Y/n as soon as we can. He follows me and we continue on, only to be met with another portal.

We exchange glances with each other, then step through. No spoken words are necessary.

Immediately I see a circle of lit torches, a sparkling bright blue filling them. We're surrounded by an absolutely massive cave.

Y/n is in the center of it and screaming. There's a figure over her, in plated armor much like the statue's armor that we saw before. It moves swiftly as she fights against it.

Before I can draw my wand, it pummels her to the ground with sword horizontally in its hands and at her throat. Her palms glow bright with ancient magic as she tries holding off the sword from slicing her.

I begin casting a spell when a large surge of bright grey magic slams into the figure and it flies back onto the ground behind her.

"Go!" Felix yells towards me, but I had already left to meet Y/n's side.

"Y/n. Y/n." I call to her as I kneel on the cold ground.

"Agh.." She tries sitting up, holding her head.

"Are you alright? You're hurt. Let me see." She grimaces by offers me a small smile.

Felix grunts around the cave as he shoots ancient magic at the figure. They're forming a sort of dance, fighting back and forth. He delivers a final blow and it crumples on the ground.

"That one.. is not like the others. It's nothing I've dealt with before, and I've fought many of them Sebastian." She speaks to me but watches Felix as he walks over to the smaller statue.

"I know. I believe you." She finally turns her head toward me. "I love you, but you seriously piss me off."

"That's what I'm here for, isn't it?" She grins at me. I can't help but chuckle back at her. I lean in and kiss her forehead, which leaves a salty taste on my lips from her sweat.

"Where the hell are we?" I look around us, and notice the Pensieve nearby. I must not have paid too much attention to it with Y/n being attacked.

"I have no idea. Wherever, whatever it is, that thing doesn't want us here. At all." Our eyes dart to Felix who takes a fistful of his magic and slams it down onto the statues armor-less face, crumbling it to dust. "Having fun over there?" Y/n calls out to her older brother.

He smirks and lifts himself off the ground, brushing his hands together to clean off the dust. "Just finishing what you started and couldn't, little sis."

Instead of remaining standing, he kneels down to sit with us on the dirty ground of the cave.

"What did you two find in the vault?" Y/n asks, pulling out a wiggenweld potion from her satchel.

Felix begins. "It seems as if the ancient magic in fact has been passed down throughout our bloodline. Some generations were skipped, but it all travelled down through our family."

"That would explain why some of the other keepers had it. It could have been passed down through their families as well?" Y/n asks with her eyes lighting up.

"I don't think it worked like that for them all. I think.. it could have originated with your family. Your family could have been the firsts to have ever posessed this kind of magic." I chime in.

"How?" Y/n asks us.

"I'm not sure, that might be something we could find out for ourselves." Felix replies. Seems as though he's showing more of an interest in this, after all.

Y/n turns her body towards me. "So.. would this mean, that it would pass down to our children?" She says with a wicked grin on her face.

I'm taken back by her question. Children? "I. I think there's a probablity, but it's not a promise. There were several family members that were not gifted the power of the ancient magic."

"Interesting.." Y/n ponders this and we sit in silence for a bit.

"You alright having some ancient magic babies with me?"

"Yes!" I blurt out, answering quite too eagerly. Felix shoots a glare in my direction, and Y/n rolls back in howling laughter.

"Your face." She looks at Felix.

I'm feeling awkward from my premature answer and decide to change the subject.

"It seems as though you found a lot more than we uncovered." I gesture toward the Pensieve.

"Ah." Y/n says having calmed down from her fit of laughter. "I haven't the slightest idea what secrets could could be hiding away in there."

"Well, no better time than now." Felix states, raising to his feet. He extends his long arm for Y/n to take his hand, steadying her up as well.

As I stand, I reach out to rub Y/n's back. "It's okay." She smiles at me, but limps a bit up to the pedestal.

The swirling bowl is massive enough for the three of us to dunk our faces in. We gather around it in a triangular pattern and look between one another.

"Ready?" Y/n asks us.

I nod once and Felix responds. "Here goes nothing."
