It's been a few weeks since your encounter with a few of the Avengers. Since then, you've taken a tiny break from hunting down rich people who use their money to get away with horrible crimes. You're not sure how the Avengers found you in the first place but you're sure that they'll find you again the second you go to kill someone again.
That's not to say you haven't been doing your research though. The world would be surprised if they knew just how many big name people are out there breaking the law and causing harm to others. Most of them pay people off to keep their secrets and almost all of them have offered you money in exchange for their lives. You don't need the money and even if you did you would never accept their offers.
It's not that hard to dig up those secrets though. Alice is a master at hacking into any and all systems in the world, even being able to break into the dark web where she can track down buyers and sellers of all things that shouldn't be sold. She even managed to take down a small portion of the dark web though there's still a lot of it left.
Your methods of cleansing the world of filth aren't the best. Some would argue that it makes you no better than the people you're killing. However, in your mind, death is the only acceptable punishment for those monsters. None of them would remotely get the amount of jail time that they deserve with the money that they have. If they couldn't buy their freedom, they could certainly buy their comfort so even if they did get time in prison it would practically be pointless.
Placing your helmet on, you prepare to head out for another mission. A few weeks was far too long to stop working and you're more than ready to get back out there. The longer you stay away from work, the more chances monsters have to harm more people. Granted, you're only one person and there's only so much you can do but you'll be damned if you don't at least clear the world of some evil even if it barely makes a difference.
It makes a difference to the people it's affecting and that's all that matters.
Alice buzzes to life inside your helmet the second it's on, letting you know that everything is functioning normally. You thank her before teleporting nearby to where your next target is currently located. Any cameras in the alley and nearby surrounding area instantly begin to glitch out, hiding you away from prying eyes.
As per usual, you take the time to scan the building for outlines in order to check just how many people are inside of the building and what floor your target is located on. You know where her office is located but there's always a chance that she's not in it. Of course, you could always just wait around until she returns to her office but there's only so much time before you're inevitably discovered by someone.
Luckily for you she's exactly where she needs to be. You waste no time to enter the building after confirming your targets location. You duck around corners to avoid running into anyone on the first floor before making your way to the elevator. It's pretty much the same routine as every other time- get into the elevator and hack it to get to the correct floor, use your powers to knock anyone who spots you unconscious and then go to the office where you confront and kill your target.
The woman- Genevieve Dimitriscu- startles when you slam her office door open, rattling the paintings on the wall from the force. She shoots into the usual spiel of questioning who you are and what you want before trying to convince you that she can pay you enough money for you to let her live. You, of course, deny the offer.
You pull your golden revolver out, flicking the chamber open as you admire the bullets resting in it waiting to be used. She stutters over her words upon seeing the gun, panicking as she begs for you to let her live and that she'll do anything you want. You flick the chamber closed as you listen to her ramblings, bored of hearing them all spew the same bullshit.
Unfortunately, someone stops you before you can end her pathetic existence.
"Put the gun down, Tron." The unmistakable voice of Iron Man cuts through the air as he once again comes shattering through the window.
You quirk an unseen brow at the nickname but decide against commenting on it. "I'm impressed you managed to get here before I killed my target this time."
"We happened to be in the area when Friday was alerted to your presence." Black Widow shrugs her shoulders as she aims a gun directly at you. This entire situation is starting to feel like a replay. "Now why don't you put the gun away and come with us while we're being nice about it?"
You open your mouth to retort only for everyone to be left stunned as another window shatters before your body collapses to the ground. The group quickly ducks down, Steve moving to protect you with his shield while Natasha checks to see if you're still alive. There's a bullet wound in your shoulder just below your armor, the material of your suit quickly becoming soaked in blood. Thankfully it doesn't seem like it hit anything important.
"Barton, what just happened?" Tony questions, moving towards the window that had been broken by the bullet as he scans the rooftops for whoever just shot you.
"No idea, Stark." Cling scans the nearby buildings, trying to find who shot you since it certainly wasn't him. "I didn't see anyone."
"Shit." Tony turns around, moving to crouch next to Natasha. "Let's get her out of here."
