Steve carries your unconscious form to the jet that Clint had brought around to land on top of the building. He gently sets you down on a cot, stepping back so Bruce can check you over. While the others were confronting you, Bruce stayed behind in the jet for this specific reason. He's the only one with any real medical knowledge and the team tends to get hurt quite often.
His fingers ghost over your wound, his glasses slipping slightly down his nose as he examines it. Sighing, he grabs some scissors before cutting the hole wider so he can get a better visual. Thankfully it looks like the bullet went completely through so he doesn't have to try and dig it out.
The ride back to the compound is quick and soon enough everyone is exiting the jet quickly, Bruce leading the way to the medical room with Steve pushing your cot along with him. The plan is to make sure you're stable before putting you in the Regeneration Cradle to help your injury heal over.
It takes a few hours in the machine for your body to be completely healed from the injury, your skin looking as pristine as it did before you were shot. There's not even a scar to remind you of the injury. Almost as if it never even happened.
Bruce has you moved onto a proper bed once the treatment is complete. He attaches a heart monitor to you just to make sure that you remain in stable condition before looking you over. The sight of you still in your helmet makes him frown as he's quite certain it's not the most comfortable thing to lay in.
Reaching forward, he tries to find any kind of clasp on it only to flinch away as a voice rings out from the mask. "You do not have clearance to remove this helmet."
Bruce pauses, a bit flabbergasted. "I'm sorry?"
"You do not have clearance to remove this helmet."
Bruce sighs before stepping away, alerting Friday to get Tony for him. It doesn't take very long for the playboy billionaire to get there, no longer wearing his armor. "She's not dead is she?" Tony questions as he approaches Bruce, popping a handful of blueberries into his mouth. Apparently he was feeling peck-ish when they got back.
"No, she's not dead." Bruce shakes his head as he leans against the foot of your bed. "I can't take her helmet off of her because I don't have 'clearance'." He puts quotes around the word with his fingers. He motions towards your form. "Apparently we're not the only one with AI around here."
"Interesting." Tony hands his package of blueberries over to Bruce as he steps around him to move closer to you. He places his hands on your helmet only to get the same result as Bruce as Alice informs him of his lack of clearance. "Have you tried removing anything else?"
When Bruce shakes his head Tony moves further down your body. He looks over your form, silently appreciating the shape of your body in your skin tight suit before he reaches down to grab your hand. He pauses as if waiting to be told off by your AI again before slipping your glove off.
"Well, let's go ahead and run her prints through the system. See if we can get a name for our mystery girl." Tony tosses the glove onto a table before grabbing his blueberries back from Bruce.
Bruce grabs a tablet before moving to your side, setting your hand against the screen so Friday can scan your prints for them. The AI compares the prints to millions of others, searching every possible data base for a match. The two men sit in silence, sharing some blueberries as they patiently wait for results. Unfortunately the results aren't what they wanted.
"No matches found."
"No matches? How is that possible?" Bruce grabs the tablet, checking that he understood the AI correctly.
"Any data on her either doesn't exist or has been erased." Friday explains. "Her prints are not in any databases in America or any other countries."
Tony purses his lips in thought as he throws away his empty blueberry package. "So, what? She's from another planet like Thor?"
"It's a possibility, sir. However, that likelihood is quite slim."
"Can you find anything on her at all? Any reports that match her appearance or abilities?" Bruce sets the tablet down as he runs his hand through his hair, already feeling stressed.
Friday is silent for a few seconds before answering. "There have been multiple reports in different countries that match her description. Before I had only searched within the United States so I had failed to find these before. The earliest report I can find is from three years ago in Australia. All reports mention a strange person in a helmet that witnesses saw moments before they lost consciousness. Just like recent cases, there is no video or photo evidence."
"She really is like a ghost." Bruce mutters with a heavy sigh.
"Well, at least we actually have her here this time. Fury will certainly be pleased." Tony scoffs as he moves to exit the lab. He's still curious as to what the real reason they were sent after you was. It certainly wasn't just because you were assassinating a bunch of random rich people. There's definitely something more to it.
"Are you going to tell him we have her?"
Tony pauses at the doorway before clicking his tongue. "Not yet. I want to learn a bit more about her before we hand her over."
Bruce watches Tony leave, shaking his head slightly. It's not very surprising that Tony wants to keep you around for his own selfish desires. Turning back to you, he pauses before awkwardly stepping towards the top of the bed where your head rests. "Uh, AI person?"
"You may call me Alice."
He lets out a breath he failed to realize he was holding when the AI actually answered him. "Alice. Okay. Uh, what can I call... your... creator?" He says the word with uncertainty since he doesn't actually know if you created the AI.
"You may call her Glitch."
"Glitch." Bruce repeats the name. In all honesty, he's not very surprised that Alice didn't give him your actual name. "Is there anything else you can tell me about Glitch? Where she's from, her powers, anything?"
"You do not have clearance for that information."
"Of course I don't." He mumbles, rolling his head back to stare up at the ceiling as he tries to remain calm. "Does anybody have clearance?"
"Only Glitch has clearance."
"Are you having fun talking to Alice, Dr. Banner?" Your voice is a bit groggy as you suddenly speak up, your voice modulator not doing much to hide it.
He jumps slightly, having not expected you to wake up any time soon. "I, uh..."
"Where am I?" You change the subject, sitting up and swinging your legs over the side of the bed so you can face him.
"You're at the Avengers compound."
