Asgard
——————————————————

Thor strolls through the halls of the Asgardian prison cells, looking into each one and seeing all the criminals who attempted to defile Asgard with their reckless behavior and punishable offenses. Thor comes upon a familiar cell; he's visited it quite often recently. It's been about a year and a half since Loki attempted to takeover Midgard, and his trial took place shortly after that. Despite his best efforts at trying to reduce Loki's sentence on account of mind control, Thor watched his father sentence his brother to an indefinite punishment that doesn't seem like it will be let up anytime soon.

Thor stares into the cell, keeping his distance. His brother can be very particular in his moods, so Thor never knows if he is crossing a boundary or not. Loki's back is turned to him, seemingly not wanting to be disturbed.

"Hello, brother," Loki states, not turning around, "Come for another visit?"

Thor steps closer to the cell as Loki turns around, holding a book, "How are you holding up?"

"Well I've read every book I've been given for the month, practiced some commoner's magic, and stared at the wall for about two hours now. So I'd say I've never been better," the God of Mischief finishes his short speech with a sarcastic grin that transitions quickly into a frown.

"Well you still have it better than the other prisoners. You are a prince after all," Thor tries to lighten the mood. Loki scoffs, rolling his eyes and turning away from Thor again, placing the book back on the shelf.

There's a brief moment of silence. Loki is still cold toward Thor, unaware of Thor's campaigning on their own behalf.

"I just got back from Midgard," Thor states.

Loki doesn't respond. His back is still turned to his brother.

"I saw a few of the Avengers, talked to Fury..."

There's still no interest from Loki.

"Madelyn is still off at solo training, so I didn't see her. Fury says she's doing good though."

At this, Loki slightly turns their head, glancing back at Thor.

"She also told Fury that if he ever saw me or you to tell you, from her, that she forgives you," Thor finishes.

Loki doesn't say a word. He stays frozen in disbelief. After a few moments, Loki finally turns all the way around, about to ask Thor more about her, but Thor is already gone. Loki sighs, sinking down to the floor.

A few hours later, chaos erupts in the prison. One of the prisoners, Algrim, activated a Kurse stone, turning him into Kurse, and leading the Dark Elves to attack Asgard to find the aether trapped inside of Jane Foster. Hearing the ruckus of Dark Elves storming the castle and prisoners escaping, Loki peers outside of their cell. The prisoners and soldiers ignore him, not wanting to free a prince of Asgard. However, Loki calls out to one of the pairs of soldiers and directs them to Jane Foster's room for the aether, thinking they will catch Thor with her. As the soldiers walk away, Loki smirks and thinks to himself: That'll show Thor he shouldn't lock me away. I still have power.

Little did Loki know, Odin, not Thor, was the cause of his imprisonment, nor was Thor in the room Loki directed them to -- Frigga was.
