"Wangji, Wuxian, and...Young Master Nie? Well, is this not a rather large surprise. You never do seem to come without one lately Brother," Wangji seemed entirely unperturbed by his brother's smile. Wei Ying slightly tilted his body so that he was slightly behind Lan Zhan though, not really liking that look in his eyes. He never had, there had always seemed to be something under them that Wei Ying was not quite able to place his finger on. He knew that it was more than that, with Lan Zhan...things were different. He trusted Lan Zhan, and Sizhui as well, but Xichen gave off this feeling that left him wondering just how much of XiChen was a show for everyone and how much of it was real. As much as Wei Ying had heard...or rather briefly caught mention since Lan Zhan did have a rather nasty habit of dragging him away from any of the guest disciples before he could truly entertain them for longer than maybe a moment or so, many seemed to think that Lan Zhan was the more dangerous of the two...Wei Ying disagreed with such an assessment. He knew Lan Zhan, and someone you know is far less dangerous than someone you don't, and XiChen had this...this facade that seemed to bleed through him more often than it did not. Who knew how much was real and how much was fake? Perhaps that was the point, it was definitely good when it came to negotiations and politicking, but Wei Ying knew well enough to be far more wary of the elder Jade than the younger one.
"There is concerns," Wangji stated carefully, leaving his brother to tilt his head curiously, graciously opening the door of his office further, and gesturing him to enter the place of his abode graciously. Wei Ying clung closer to Lan Zhan, as though he was merely trying to melt into the other. Lan Zhan placed an arm about his waist, gently maneuvering him through the room, and pulling him down with him as they sat before the desk that XiChen had placed in the room. Wei Ying could not help but let his eyes wander the room again. He had only been in here once, after all, and he had not really bothered to look around, at least not in a way that it would be something he remembered. As far as he knew he was rather preoccupied with other things at that point in time. He briefly felt a gust of wind on his side as Huaisang sat to his other side, more nervous than Wei Ying was, which was definitely a feate of accomplishment, although perhaps not a necessarily good one. As much as Wei Ying would rather deal with this on his own, he knew Lan Zhan had a point of going to his bother. Besides, if we are to do anything, we would need his say so anyways. Though I doubt he would get Lan Zhan in trouble for anything he were to do, but I am a different situation. Lan Zhan and I are betrothed and engaged to be married soon enough, but at the same time...who is to say that has any weight at the moment. I do not know, these politics are rather tedious and annoying, and I do not hold much fondness for the elders. Makes sense, they don't particularly care for me either.
"Wangji, you mentioned there were concerns," XiChen began gently, walking besides them and sitting himself just before the desk, probably for an illusion of intimacy. Wei Ying cursed his thoughts, he really should not be thinking this way of his Guardian, and to some extent master...it was wrong. Either way, he just had this...this feeling that XiChen had suspicions, and those suspicions had led themselves to a plan, and that they were all just walking into it, all that XiChen needed was someone to comment some concerns and then poof, something would happen to the Jiang Heir. Not that he gave much regard to it, considering his own past with the Heir...though it did not seem as though he remembered, or even recognized Wei Ying, which made sense as it had been so long and he was not anywhere close to how he looked when he was young, underfed, and on the streets for ages. "I presume they are to do with young Master Nie, who is with you?"
"Mhm," Wangji stated, bowing his head slightly his eyes casting a look towards him that he knew immediately what it meant. Wei Ying held in a sigh, and took over the speaking. He knew that Lan Zhan would pull something like this sometime soon enough. It was impossible not to notice how tense he was with his beloved's older brother, and it was even more obvious because he knew how Wei Ying was with his younger brother, whom Wei Ying not only adored but had no issues with either. This was just...it was bound to happen eventually, but that did not make him anymore upset that he had not managed to prepare himself. He truly should have seen something like this happening, and been prepared. It was not as though Wangji was being cruel, he just wanted Wei Ying to be put in a situation where he had to talk to XiChen to hopefully lessen the intimidating factor of his older brother, and Wei Ying knew that, he could not get angry for it.
"Young Master Nie is worried that the Jiang Heir has some sort of...vendetta against him over something, as to what exactly the details are, we are not sure, however I myself have been witness to the general hostility of the Jiang Heir and his significant temper, of which many have suffered from already. I have also seen how honed in he seems to be with the Young Nie, so it would not be overly surprising if he believes Young Master Nie has done something, and has decided he must pay for it. The fact that the young master has seen fit to come to both myself and Lan Zhan makes such things more evident. I asked Lan Zhan, he suggested that we go to you."
"And indeed, you should have. I do appreciate you bringing this to my attention, Wuxian," Wei Ying curled deeper into Lan Zhan's side at the familiar term of address, but it was nothing he could speak on, much less with another guest in the room with them.
"I..." Huaisang flipped his fan over, hiding his face from view as the eldest Jade stared at him. "I just am worried, after all everyone knows my cultivation is not good, and if Brother heard this he would come storming in, which definitely would not help matters, as I am sure you are aware. Either that or he would think I am trying to make an excuse to leave the lectures. I am not!" He said hastily, staring at XiChen bashfully. "I am doing the best this year as opposed to the other years. I really think I have a shot to pass this year." Xichen laughed genially.
"I understand, I am glad you brought this to my attentions. Of course, Young Master Nie, you will be forced to write a complete statement, and I shall gather my Uncle for the proceedings that we will take further. Wangji, WuXian, why don't you fetch Uncle over, and then you may return to whatever it is you were going to do before aiding young master Nie here."
