Wei Ying knew that he could not stay comfortable even if he desperately wanted to allow himself to drop into the feeling of safety and comfort that he felt. It was dangerous. Even if the young Lan Master had guaranteed him that he would be fine, he was still nervous. He could not help but shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen, that something would change, and through that change something bad would come his way once more. Though after all, Lan Zhan had been the one to kidnap him into coming to the Cloud Recesses, so he supposed reassurances of safety probably was not the best when coming from the very person who stole him. Even if Wei Ying was beginning to think that perhaps it was a good thing that he had been taken unwillingly, the fact remains that it was still exactly that...unwilling.

He was just so utterly tired of bad things happening to him all of the time. What choice did he have but to endure them when they did happen? None. That was what he had always done, it was all that he really could do no matter how much he wished otherwise.. Still, Lan Zhan's soothing voice as he brushed through his hair, aiding him in getting all of the tangles from it...It was nice. It was something that he had longed for, and even with the addition of Wen Ning, he had yet to find something that gave him that sense of security he had always longed for after his parents and his trainer's death. Do not get him wrong, Wen Ning was an invaluable addition to his poor family of two, including himself, and he loved his company, always enjoying talking to the other and sharing stories and Wen Ning was someone that Wei Ying counted on and cared for. Still, Wen Ning and Lan Zhan were two very different people. That much was more than obvious and even if he was uncertain what exactly characterized them as so vastly different from one another it was quite clear that they were polar opposites when it came to Wei Ying categorizing them.

He was not even truly certain why Lan Zhan had offered to allow him to stay here. He was thankful, of course, and he would forever be thankful to the generosity of the young Master, but Wei Ying did not know what the young master WANTED. Everyone wanted something, the real question was what they actually wanted, and how they obtained it, what were they willing to sacrifice to obtain whatever it is that they lusted for? Then again, what could Lan Zhan possibly want from him? He knew that the other had to desire something from him but he had no idea what it could be. He had nothing. He came from nowhere. He had no skill, he barely even understood the general acceptable social norms when it came to being around other people. It was so terrifying but what could he do? Escape? That was...possible, Wei Ying supposed. After what had happened the last time however, he was not entirely certain when he would be given a chance to escape, but he was certain that he could do it as long has he had the right opportunity! He knew that he could! It was possible, he had done it before....granted that was when the disciples and young master were not paying attention to what he was doing, too concerned with what was probably them detecting the fierce corpses on their trail, and they were generally confused about their surroundings and arguing somewhat, and therefore their attention was not actually on him, and he was not even certain about any potential wards which would be scattered about the place after all there had to be more then just the main one right...but the real question which plagued his mind was...Did he really want to leave?

That was the real question. Did he want to leave? Truthfully, he sort of did. He was too uncertain about the people, about the expectations, what he would be expected to do, how he would even do them, and he did not even know why Lan Zhan had decided it would be a good idea to snatch him and drag him over here. He worried that there may be some catch, and if there was he should just leave  before he got too comfortable....

Too comfortable. He had a feeling that it was just a little bit too late for that. Especially since he was leaning back into Lan Zhan as he brushed his hair, willingly taking the warmth from the other's body and allowing it to spread to his cold one...Though why Wei Ying was still cold was a sheer mystery to him and he would not and could not understand that...he was already far too comfortable, and he was not sure that he wanted to become less comfortable than he already was. He was worried about Wen Ning, and he was concerned about the fact that Wen Ning had willingly attacked an innocent group of disciples for seemingly no reason, to the point where Wei Ying even had to use ChenQing against him to force him to stop attacking!
