Wei Ying let Lan Zhan finish putting his hair up. The other was determined that he visit at least one of his brothers before the day's end. Wei ying would not deny that it made him rather confused, as to why Lan Zhan would even care if he knew his brothers. He was just a ward, sure he was Lan Zhan's own ward but a ward none the less. he did not really mean...that being said he was not, he was just not as important. He was most certainly not important enough to be speaking to Lan Zhan alone, let alone the others' brothers. He did not understand this desire to get him to know the other's brothers.
"Lan Zhan," Wei Ying spoke softly. "You said you had two brothers." Lan Zhan nodded, not saying anything as they finished readying themselves to leave the Jingshi. "Which one will I be meeting."
"Younger, Lan SiZhui..." Lan Zhan would have said more, but then opted to not. He was not all that great at putting the words together into sentences anyways, and he would rather not speak much more anyways. He was sure that Wei ying would understand even with the lack of words.
Wei Ying, for his part, was fairly glad that they were meeting the younger brother before he elder one. He was already rather nervous about meeting and actually conversing with anyone other than Lan Zhan. Though he did not know if this Lan SiZhui was older than himself or younger, that was entirely besides the point. The point was that he would feel a bit more in his element because he was younger than Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan would be able to...
Wei Ying was not entirely certain what he thought Lan Zhan would do, but the whole point was that he was more comfortable. The idea of meeting the Lan siblings was already nerve-wracking, and so he hoped that Lan SiZhui, whoever he was, was at least somewhat similar to Lan Zhan. Or, rather, similar enough to make him more relaxed.
"Lan Zhan," Wei Ying whispered softly under his breath. Lan Zhan hummed, glancing towards Wei Ying momentarily. "Do you think," Wei Ying paused.
The question was should he really ask? Did it really matter? For some reason Lan Zhan wanted him to meet his siblings, and Wei Ying wanted to make a good impression, or at least not a horrible one. He was already anxious. The last time that he had been introduced to siblings, they had hated him, and he had escaped from their clutches. While he did not really think that this was going to go in a similar way as the Jiang siblings, he could not help but be worried that it may.
"Do you think that they will like me? Your brothers?"
Lan Zhan paused, turning to look at Wei Ying. He could see that the younger was actively anxious about it. It was similar to him. He wanted his brothers to like his ward. He wanted them to think highly of Wei Ying, despite his status. He wanted Wei Ying to enjoy the comfortable presence of his brothers as well. He could tell that Wei Ying was nervous.
"Why would they not?" Lan Zhan asked, voice actively curious. It was not often that there was any type of emotional inflection in his voice, but he could not help it this time. He liked Wei Ying, Wei Ying was his ward, therefore his brothers would surely like Wei Ying too. Why was the other so anxious.
"The last time I was introduce to siblings it did not really go all that well," Wei Ying admitted lowly. Lan Zhan inhaled sharply.
Wei Ying was not really one to talk of his past. He did not really make any mention to it, did not speak of it, most of the time Lan Zhan felt that he preferred to pretend it had never existed. Sometimes, Lan Zhan felt himself curious, wondering what had happened the the young boy. The most of his past that he had shared with Lan Zhan was when they had first met in the lower village. Wei Ying had stated that his parents had died whilst on their way to take him to the Cloud Recesses, and that considering Wei Ying did not know how to get to the Cloud Recesses he just set up camp outside the Gusu village where they had met him. He had also apologized for that random attack from that fierce corpse."
