"You are at once both the quiet and the confusion of my heart."
Devone POV
"Your appointment has been approved for Wednesday, at ten o'clock in the morning." Said the woman's voice from the other line.
A smile immediately curved on my lips. "Oh, that's great! Thank you so much. Please, extend my gratitude to him." I closed the car door after I got out while talking to Thalia on the phone.
"I will, Miss Davis." She replied politely.
She then hung up. I walked towards the school gate with a smile while clutching some folders to my chest.
"Good morning, Miss Davis." The guards and some students greeted me when I passed through the gate.
"Good morning," I replied lightly with a small smile.
I walked towards the admin building and went up to the floor where my office is located. I opened the door using my key. I even dropped some folders that I was holding when I was going to open the doorknob.
"Tulungan na kita." A tall woman was suddenly next to me. She helped me pick up some folders that had fallen on the floor.
"What are you doing here?" I scolded her. "You should be in class right now."
She opened my office door and held it for me. She immediately came in after I got inside.
"Ayos lang." She replied. "Besides, flag ceremony pa muna bago mag-start ang klase ko."
I immediately faced her as soon as I put down my things. "Yhael -"
"Love." She immediately cut off.
She approached me and immediately slid her arms around my waist. I adjusted the necktie she was wearing. She always comes to school with her necktie not properly placed. I didn't have time to check it this morning before we went to school since we were both in a hurry. We also used a separate car because starting tonight she will be returning to work part-time at the bar.
"We're in school." I reminded her and cross my arms across my chest.
"I know." She slightly bent down to give me a light kiss on the lips. "Promise I will behave."
I rolled my eyes. "I would have believed it if I didn't know you, Lucas."
"Where's your ring?" Her forehead creased when she noticed that I wasn't wearing my wedding ring.
"I..." I paused theatrically. "... took it off until some other arrangement is made."
She clacked her teeth together. "Devone -"
"Yhael, we're in school. Here, I am known as Miss Davis." I explained before the conversation started to heat up. "Not as Mrs. Lucas," I added in a weak voice.
She sighed with disappointment. "Alright." She replied with a lack of enthusiasm and then let me go.
Halata ang pagtatampo sa kanyang mga mata. I grabbed her arm just as she was about to turn away. I immediately put my arms around her neck and kissed her lips so she wouldn't sulk anymore.
She tilted her back a little. "Hindi mo ako makukuha sa mga ganyan, Devv." But her hands that are now holding my butt seem to be saying otherwise.
"Huwag ka na kasi magtampo." Paglalambing ko. "We've talked about this before, haven't we?"
She breathed out exaggeratedly. "Fine." And rolled her eyes.
I smiled softly at her for that. She again bent down to kiss me on the lips. But this time, it's been longer and deeper. She gently pushed me toward the edge of the table I was using and cornered me while our lips are still touching.
