REQUEST:
Can I have a Tony drinking problem that is related to his self-asteem and when Steve finds out he tries to fix it.
I may have swapped it around so that this is about Steve and his problems because as we found out in aou Steve isn't okay. If you want to read something similar to the request above instead of angsty Steve then check out Toxic Lover in this book. VOTE COMMENT FOLLOW?
Steve is fine.
That's why he's hurtling his way down the highway on his motorbike, a storm raging overhead, rain slicking the road in nothing but a pair of jeans and a too small t-shirt that he was pretty sure was Tony's. Small, individual raindrops slide down his cheeks, salty tasting as they slide past his mouth and drop to the racing floor, but its okay he's fine.
He and his motorbike are eating up the tarmac road like it's nothing and as he looks down at the speedometer on the handlebars he realizes that he's going well over a hundred. He doesn't slam on the brakes - he wishes he was that stupid no - instead he carefully loosens his hand off the throttle and allows himself to slow down to a respectable speed.
Steve is fine but maybe he should head on back to Stark Tower now.
He does a quick u-turn on the next intersection, ignoring the beeping horns and the shaking fists and races back into the heart of the city where he knows that everyone will be waiting. He pulls up inside the garage, slipping off the bike and walking into the lab where he can see Tony welding something. "Hey baby," He tries to keep his voice light, like he wasn't just outside in the pouring rain, speeding to his death on the highway. Thankfully Tony didn't notice and turned around with a smile on his face, grease pushing his mucky hair off his forehead.
"Stevie!" The other man crows deliriously and drops the metal he was fusing together with a loud crash, making Steve wince and sways across the lab to where Steve was standing. "What are you doing up so late?" The brunette collapses three foot away from Steve and Steve lunged forward to catch him in his arms.
Steve ignores the question and looks down at Tony worriedly. "How long have you been down here?" Tony shrugs and tries to teeter away from Steve but Steve clings onto him. "Have you eaten anything?" Tony shrugs again and Steve sighs a little, his stomach tightening but he pushes the feeling away and gathers Tony in his arms to carry him upstairs to their shared apartment.
"Steeb? I loveee you," Tony giggled and placed a sloppy kiss on Steve's cheek before passing out in Steve's arms like a little kitten, all floppy and trustworthy. Tony's little, lovely declaration of love eases something else in Steve's chest that he hadn't even noticed was there until it was gone. Upon entering the apartment and stripping Tony out of his dirty lab gear and himself of the wet clothes Steve slips Tony under the deliciously cool covers and snuggles up behind him and they both fall asleep to the sound of the rain against the window.

Steve is fine but sometimes he wakes up crying.
He learnt a long time ago to cry quietly, how to force his body to remain rigid and not shake with the little tremors that threaten to overwhelm him. He pushes away from a still sleeping Tony and looks up at the ceiling, trying not to remember how this scene was so similar when he used to share the bed with Bucky. He doesn't try to think about Bucky anymore, not since he found out that the person he is looking for isn't the same person he wants to find and that thought in itself is more painful than the shots that the Winter Soldier shot into Steve's abdomen.
