Hi can you do a wedding where at the reception Tony proposes to Steve? - starkidgleekhp

Wedding Fever:

There’s an old saying that one wedding leads to another.

Phil and Clint’s wedding was a small affair, a handful of close friends and family invited to the occasion, it was comfortable and Tony hated it as he watched the happy couple sway on the dance floor; their arms wrapped around each other, cheeks pressed together as Clint buried his face in Coulson’s neck.

“Makes you almost believe in romance again doesn’t it?” Natasha sidled up to where he was sat and Tony quickly slipped the silver ring that he was wearing off and into his suit pocket along with the empty box.

“Wasn’t it you that told Barton that love is for children?” Tony asked sourly as he threw back his glass of orange juice and signalled the waiter for another. Natasha rolled her eyes and sat down in the empty and gestured at the newly wedded couple.

“Clint is a child at heart,” Natasha explained with a sigh. “Plus what he and Phil have, that bond is not just ‘love’, its set in a foundation of trust and friendship and mutual respect for each other, and that almost makes me want what they have.” Natasha sighed and turned to face him. “In fact, that what they have is what you and Steve have Stark, don’t let that go.”

Tony grumbled and looked at her and saw the way that she was looking at him with her green eyes. Sighing to himself and then smiling at her Tony raised his glass. “I god hope you’re right.” He muttered before clinking their glasses together and drinking to his fortune.

“Stark,” he looked up and saw that Natasha had taken Steve’s hand, “When have I ever been wrong?” she countered back and laughed as Steve twirled her onto the dance floor and held her close to his bigger body.

Tony watched them dance and his heart ached in his chest as Steve leaned down and whispered something in Natasha’s ear that made her laugh and bury her head in his chest. A part of him wished to ask Steve to dance, to spend the rest of their lives together in matrimony, but another part of him wondered whether it really was their time, whether Steve really wanted this because watching him dance like that with Natasha was doing nothing for Tony’s self esteem.

He really, really wanted to get drunk.

But he’d promised Steve that he’d quit and he had and Tony really didn’t want to see the look on Steve’s face if he broke that promise, so instead he scowled at his glass of orange juice and drank that instead.

“Are you going to ask anyone to dance or are you going to sit there all evening?” Tony looked up startled to see Clint standing there with his arm wrapped around Coulson. Coulson chuckled and buried his face into Clint’s neck and Tony glared at him blankly before shaking.

“Too nervous.” Tony replied snippily and Clint nodded understandingly.

“I guess the plan is still going ahead then?” Clint asked and Tony nodded, ignoring the curious look that Coulson was sending him. “Good, I would hate it to end now after all the effort I've put into it." Clint groaned dramatically and wiped fake sweat from his forehead and leant against Phil laughing as Tony tried to resist the temptation to punch that smirk off Clint's face.

"Baby don’t annoy him," Coulson chastised his new husband with a smile and walked away from Tony, dragging Clint away with him.

"Hi, thanks for coming and everything," Clint smiled, climbing onto the bandstand and stopping everyone from dancing. "Since it's an old tradition and it resulted in this marriage everyone who's already married should remove themselves from the dance floor."

A whisper started up around the edge of the dance floor and with a little giggling and shoving around everyone removed themselves from the dance floor, everyone but Steve who stood there bewildered.

"Ready?" Clint asked loudly, and when Steve started to complain he threw the bouquet.

Fumbling and cursing Steve caught the bouquet and inside the stems of the white and blue roses was a little envelope addressed to him. Steve furrowed his brow and shifted the bouquet to the crook of his left arm and he picked up the little envelope and turned it over, slipping his finger under the seal he pulled out a little piece of paper.

"Will you…"

"Marry me?" Steve turned around after reading the little note to see Tony kneeling there, his hands outstretched with a silver band in them. Steve's breath caught in his throat and he stared into Tony's gorgeous dark eyes that looked so damn nervous that he reached out his hands and took the silver band.

"Yes," Steve breathed, reaching downwards so that Tony could slip the ring on his finger and finally , finally he got his arms around the love of his life and hugged him hard, pressing his face into Tony's neck and he cried.

Steve finally pulled away when he heard the applause and blushed as the others came up and gave their congratulations, blushing as each of them commented how cute they were until finally everything got back in the swing of things and they were left by themselves.

The two of them made their way to a small table on the edge of the dance floor and the band started playing again; something slow and Latin sounding. Pepper was dancing with Happy, swaying slowly and looking content in each others arms while Clint and Phil dipped each other, giggling to themselves.

"You really mean this don’t you?" Steve asked Tony nervously wondering whether his boyfriend, no fiancée had gotten caught up in the wedding fever and was contented when Tony shook his head.

Leaning over to kiss his fiancée Steve chuckled as he ran his tongue over the seam of Tony's lips, "You taste like oranges." He complained.

Tony laughed but kissed him back. "You taste like home." He replied simply.
