Where Steve has so much passion and tension for Tony that he tries in many attempts to win him over -

This probably wasn't what you had in mind when you requested but I think that I just love this idea of Steve's love attempts nearly killing Tony!

It only takes two years of living in Stark Tower for Steve to realise that the feeling of hate that he feels when he's around Tony Stark isn't actually hate, its more along the feelings of love. It takes a further one year for him to get over his pining and bring up the courage to try and woo Tony Stark over.

Steve ignores the way that Sam and Bucky laugh at him and tries not to get discouraged when he runs his plan by Natasha only for her to break down laughing because as he snottily tells them he can woo, just because he hasn't been out with anyone before doesn't mean he cannot make someone fall in love with him (for very often it happens without him actually trying.)

The next time that Natasha sees Steve he's carrying a huge bouquet of flowers to the lab where Steve had just confirmed with JARVIS that Tony was still working and she does a double take, "Um Steve what are you doing with those flowers?" Natasha asked dubiously, eyeing them up as she takes in the red roses, the white lilies and the yellow daffodils. "Are those for Tony?"

Steve nods and Natasha shrugs, taking a step back with her hands in the air. "Alright, it's your call but don't come running to me when this all fails." And with that Natasha turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Steve staring at her disappearing back. It's okay, Steve isn't going to let that stop him, he's going to woo the crap out Tony he won't even know he's falling in love with him.

"Oh," Steve says, watching in disbelief as the smile on Tony's face started to disappear and then completed disappears as his eyes begin to water and he dissolves into a coughing fit. Steve grabs the flowers from Tony's hands and gives them to DUM-E with a wild shove. He looks desperately at Tony who is still coughing, hands scrambling at his throat as he tries for breath. "Sorry for giving you the flowers, I should have known." Steve apologizes with a frown but Tony waves it off.

"It's okay, I didn't even know myself." The coughing has finally come to an end but Tony's eyes are still watering so Steve presses a semi-clean flannel into his hands. "I've never been given flowers before," Tony murmurs from behind the flannel as he cleans up his face and Steve freezes. "They were nice until they tried to kill me." Tony pouted and Steve unfreezes a little and takes the cloth from Tony to clean up the last of the tearstains.

"I'm glad you liked them." Steve stares into Tony's eyes and watched as his pupils dilated and his breathing got heavier. "Uh, I'd better get going," Steve jerked away as Tony's gaze wandered down to his lips and stumbled to his feet, trying to ignore the hurt look on Tony's face and left the lab where he met Natasha, Sam and Bucky at the top all staring smugly at him. Steve took one look at them and they burst into laughter, and Steve huffed before going back to his bedroom to plan with next idea on wooing Tony over, one that didn't involve flowers.

Steve's next attempt at wooing Tony over was innocent, he'd asked Tony out on a little dinner date in a lovely little restaurant in downtown New York and the other man had said yes. This is how they found themselves sitting opposite each other, squished into a small red booth with low lit lighting and soft jazz music playing in the background.

"This is nice." Tony had grinned at him, all white teeth and cheekiness that had Steve clamming up as he nodded and blushed. "What do they serve here?" He looked around interested for there were no menus and Steve explained. "It's a delicacy restaurant, they sell a daily menu of whatever the head chef has made, whether it be fish, meat or vegetables, they are very good."
