Natasha's POV

I'm woken up by a weight bouncing up and down on my chest. I smile to myself as I already know what and who specifically it is.

I open my eyes and see my daughter excitedly jumping around with a huge grin on her face. "Good morning, my sweet birthday girl" I smile and open my arms for her to fall into which she immediately does. "How are you feeling, huh?" I ask smirking down at her "I am soooo old now" she dramatically groans

"Oh is that so, yeah?" I say, starting to tickle her sides. "Ahh, Mama stop" she whelps as she squirms away from me.

-

After our little tickling session she is now lying on top of me and plays with the ends of my hair. "I love you so much, y/n- always remember that" I whisper before pressing a bunch of featherlike kisses on her face "and I'm so proud of you". "I love you too, Mommy" she giggles

"How about we get ready and open some presents" I say and drag out the 's' a little. "Yayyyyy" she screams with a shit smile. God this kid is so adorable, how have I become so lucky?

-

"Do you want to wear your favourite dress?" I ask, rummaging through her closet trying to find something acceptable for the temperature outside. "Yes" she says while running around the room. This child has so much energy, you wouldn't even know.

"One or two braids?" I question after I changed her into some clothes. She takes a moment to think before answering with 'two' and as I start on doing that she continues to play with her stuffie that she takes everywhere.

After finishing the braids I look at her in the mirror- man, she is growing up so damn fast. It feels like yesterday that I was allowed to hold her for the first time after going years through the adoption process. It feels like yesterday that she took her first steps and spoke her first word. I was and am still so grateful that I've been given a chance as a mother.

"All done, my love" I smile and lift her up in my arms to take her downstairs.

As we walk into the kitchen everyone starts to sing 'happy birthday' and y/n's eyes visibly lit up when she sees the huge cake that is placed in the middle of the table.

"Happy birthday, детка" I say again- I'm gonna give her anything she needs and wants, anything I've never had.
