Mio was anxiously waiting for Kagura's arrival, fingering her new ring that shone against the bright glow of the sun. It was slowly starting to become a habit of hers after she received the ring from Tokatti, instead of grabbing her necklace.

It was quite the quick change too, but she didn't care. The ring was a symbol of his precious promise towards her, and her own towards him — so it felt like their promise would never be broken and forgotten if she continued to remind herself about it.

Looking wistfully into the distance, she didn't realize Kagura had arrived until she heard her panting. As if on cue, she quickly hid her right hand behind her back, frowning at Kagura's heaving frame. It wasn't like she wanted to hide their newfound relationship... but she wanted some time — maybe a few hours, and then she would be ready.

"Hey, Kagura." The said woman looked up and gave Mio a blinding smile, grasping her left hand and cradling it into her own. Mio smiled back, too, feeling a wave of fondness wash over her. Kagura then reached for Mio's right hand. The sleeve of her sailor uniform nearly caught onto Mio's ring, so she quickly dodged it and stepped back, smiling playfully. Kagura pouted, but intertwined their hands together.

"Sorry, Mio. I woke up a little later than usual so I was kinda late. Daiki was hungry and refused to eat cereal today." She pulled Mio's arm and started swinging it as they both walked to school, talking amicably. The next stop was at Tokatti's house, and Mio was starting to get a little fidgety. Since they hadn't revealed their relationship yet, it would be super uncomfortable for the both of them to hide something so big from their two closest friends.

Mio glanced at the back of Kagura's head watching her twin tails bounce with her every step. She felt a little guilty; after all, they decided not to hide things from each other.

But it would only be for a little bit — Mio reassured herself.

"Mio, are okay?" Kagura stopped walking, leaning in closer to her face as if inspecting it. Her eyebrows crinkled and a frown quickly replaced her grin. Mio quickly smiled, hoping it looked genuine.

"I'm fine." She dismissed, waving her hand. This reminded her of Tokatti's little pep talk a few days prior and she shook her head to forget it. It wasn't time to be distracted. Mio caught Kagura glancing at her ring, even more confused, and she quickly put her hand down. "Now let's go, Kagura. We don't want to be late do we?" Mio patted the girl's head and beamed. "See? I'm all right!" She smiled again for good measure.

Kagura finally nodded, but she seemed hesitant. "Let's go, Kagura." Mio lightly tugged her hand, and she snapped out of her daze.

"Uh.. yeah, let's go!" Kagura's eyes left the ground, darting toward Mio's right hand once again. Kagura seemed like she wanted to say something, the words right at her lips, but she closed her mouth. Her infectious smile was back on her face, and Mio was secretly relieved. If Kagura asked no questions, it would be easier to reveal it.

Hopefully.

Tokatti walked to the nearest vending machine and looked at all the options.

So many to choose from... yet it was so hard to figure out.

He knew that Mio liked fruit sodas, but she also liked any type of sports drink. She always liked orange slices over grapes, but disliked orange soda, so she would drink grape soda.

And there they were, both there, staring dauntingly at him.

He gulped.

He wanted orange soda, so he should get her grape.
