Hey so this is probably not going to 100% follow the storyline because I'm more interested in the interactions between Max and Ellis. I'm probably just going straight into the whole locking Billy-boy in a sauna or whatever.

"Max, pick up! Over," The walkie-talkie on the white dresser announces, followed by a moment of radio static. The girl lying next to me rolls over uncomfortably and moans. I look down on the floor at El who shifts and covers her ears with her hands.

The radio repeats the same message, only you can here two voices tripping over one another. Mike and Lucas.

The sound of Lucas's voice brings a sick feeling to my stomach and I throw the blanket over my head. The radio sounds once more causing Max to walk over to her dresser. Her body heat disappears and a little bit of my sanity with it.

"What the hell do you guys want?" Max's agitated voice makes me jump slightly. The redhead is about to shut off the walkie-talkie when the static emerges again.

"There is an emergency, no time to explain! Get here stat! Over and out," For I second I think it's a prank, however they do sound urgent. I meet the redhead's gaze.

"Do you think we should go?" I ask her since she knows them and their horrible sense of humor better than I do. Max sighs, her eyes closing slightly on the exhale.

She walks across the room and begins grabbing clothes off the floor.

"We better go just in case those dimwits are actually about to get themselves killed. I hope Will is at least with them keeping the situation under control," Max heads to her bathroom to get changed, her footsteps echoing as she does so.

We all get changed and start our walk to the Wheeler's house. El, as usual, is walking briskly and is about a yard ahead. Max and I walk side by side, our fingers occasionally brushing against each other, which causes lighting bolts to strike my chest.

A heaviness lingers in the air and on my tongue. Despite how stupid it would be all I want to do is scream that I was head over heels for her. I keep my lips sealed, though the words echo in my throat and chest.

We eventually make it. El without even bothering to knock throws the front door open-with her mind-and waltzes inside. Max and I quicken our pace to make sure El doesn't cause any problems. The brunette has an almost determination to find out what's going on, or rather to see Mike.

In the Kitchen, a woman with big curly hair coddles a little girl who couldn't be more than three. She brushes the toddlers blonde hair and puts it in pigtails which sway left and right as the girl jerks her head.

The woman looks up and meets our gaze.

"Oh hey Max!" She says with a smile. The little girl grabs on to a strand of the woman's hair which the woman promptly fights the small hand away and mutters something like Holly, behave!

"Uh hey Karen, Are the guys home," Max asks dully. The blue-eyed girl is picking at her nails, as if she is uncomfortable.

"Oh yes! They're right downstairs!" She points to a door that presumably leads to the basement. The three of us head in a line through the particular door the woman named Karen had pointed to.

The basement is overall very roomy. There are two couches with blankets and clothes strewn across the backs and cushions. Off to the side there is a dark wooden table that was surprisingly empty in comparison to all the clutter that seemed to engulf the area.Four wooden chairs are neatly pushed into place. Sitting on the ground were three boys: Will, Mike, and Lucas
