"What."

"You've been dodging my calls."

"Yeah I have, I don't wanna talk you- nothing good comes out of it."

"Dean stop being like that."

"Like what? Honest?"

He could see his dad roll his eyes in his head, "Bobby was supposed to talk to you."

"He did, I just didn't care about what you had to say."

"Well you might want to, I'm giving you a heads up, I'll be in town on Monday- latest Tuesday."

"Monday?.. next week?- Why?"

"I'll tell you when I get there, it's best we talk in person."

"Bullshit, tell me now."

"Dean, stop being so impatient. See you."

"Impat-!" Dean stared at his phone in disbelief as his father hung up on him. "Who was that?" Sam asked as he came down the steps, watching Dean groan in frustration.

"Dad."

"What did he want?"

"It doesn't concern you Sam."

"What? Of course it does."

"Sam! Not now!" Dean grabbed his keys and jacket. "Don't leave the house."

"Where are you going?"

"Out."

Dean had been out for hours, it was getting late. Sam was worried, it'd been awhile since Dean had got angry like this.

It's always their dad who does it to him. He was hoping Dean would come back so they could talk but so far no dice.

There was a knock at the door when he was cleaning up after making himself dinner and he rushed to open it, thinking Dean was back but too drunk to use the keys.

"Hello Sam, is Dean here?" It was Cas. Nicely dressed with a smile on his face.

Sam shook his head, allowing Cas inside the house, "He yelled at me and just left.. like hours ago." Castiel frowned, taken back. "Dean yelled at you?" That wasn't like his boyfriend at all. Dean never got mad enough to yell at Sam.

"Yeah, it's fine though."

"No it isn't." Castiel shook his head, he didn't want Sam to downplay his emotions, "I'm sure you aren't the cause of his anger."

Sam nodded, "Yeah I know." He furrowed his brows. "Why are you looking for him?"

"We.. um, we had a date. Dean is usually on time for our dates."

"He blew you off?"

Cas nodded, "Seems like it." Sam sighed, "Y'know there's no point in going after him Cas. Dean is unpredictable when he gets like this. He has issues.."

"I know Sam-"

"No Dean's.. Dean's issues are a lot. I live with him I would know." Sam shrugged, "He won't even talk to me about his problems but I know he has them. I can see it." He swallowed. "Heavy really is the head that wears the crown."

"Sam I understand you are worried about your brother but I can handle Dean."

"Cas, we both know Dean doesn't think he deserves anything good. He is so scared of ending up like our father that he has all these problems he won't talk about because as long as he ignores them they aren't there. But he doesn't realise that in doing that he's already on the path to being like him." Sam tried to explain gently.
