Raph grunted as he punched the beat dummy.
"Hey, guys. Check it out." Donnie told them.
Leo looked away from the T.V. and looked at his younger brother.
"What up, D?" Mikey asked, sitting himself next to Donnie. Raph walked up behind Donnie to look at the laptop screen.
"It says they saw ninjas last night in Manhattan." Leo stood up and sat on the other side of Donnie.
"What?" He asked, reading the article. "But we were on patrol last night and we didn't see anything." Mikey said, eating a piece of pizza and watching the computer screen.
"Think they saw us?" Raph asked, unnerving everyone. Donnie double clicked on the photo and it showed three figures running and the last one in mid-air doing a back-flip.
"I don't think so. These figures look...slimmer.... and...shorter." Donnie said. Leo, Mikey, and Raph all let out a relieved sigh.
"Maybe it was the Foot?" Leo asked, looking at the picture again.
"Maybe. But I don't remember them doing back-flips for the fun of it." Raph said, putting both arms behind his head in a relaxed manner.
"Ugh! More ninjas? We already have The Foot." Mikey complained.
"Yeah, it's starting to get a little crowded." Donnie added.
"We should try to find them tonight. They could be a threat." Leo announced.
"Like we wouldn't be able to take 'em down." Raph scoffed.
"Maybe they're cool." Mikey said, trying to scoot closer to the picture and shouldering Donnie in the process. "Woah, guys." Donnie said looking at the screen closely.
"They're mutants." He said, showing them the screen. The picture was zoomed in and Leo could make out the tails and ears.
"I was right!" Mikey cheered.
"What time is it?" Leo finally asked. "Uhm, around ten? Why?"
"We're going out on patrol to find them." Leo said, standing up. Raph chuckled roguishly and Mikey grinned. "Booyakasha!" He exclaimed. They all hopped over the subway entrance and ran to the closest manhole.Adrian glanced down an alleyway and only saw a manhole.
"Nothing down this one." She said. "Geez, I didn't know this was gonna be so boring." Carmen complained.
"Don't get your frickin' tail in a knot, Car." Sam told her, hopping over another roof.
"Seriously? You wanna go, Snowy?" Carmen asked, agitated.
"Woah, slow down, coyote. Don't start things you can't finish. We all know that if it came right down to it, you wouldn't hurt anybody." Sam said rolling her eyes.
"Hey, chill out, guys." Jade berated. No one said anything and they stopped at an edge. "Wait, stop." Adrian said in a strained whisper as she tried not to fall off the edge from surprise. They all stopped behind her and paused.
"You see that?" Adrian asked, focusing her eyes on the four silhouette figures that were a whole six blocks away.
"See what?" Jade asked.
"Wait, are you using them?" Sam asked, mentioning her abilities.
"Shh!" Adrian scolded. She squatted and bit her lip as she saw them search the streets and come closer.
"They're coming close. Let's stay in the shadows for now. They won't see us." She told them. Everyone except for Adrian exchanged anxious glances.
"Is that a yes to using them?" Carmen asked. Adrian glanced at the figures and could see they were now three blocks away.
She gave a quick nod and they all ran to different spots, pulling their masks over their mouths.
She then ran behind a wall and pressed her back against it. Adrian relaxed her breath and listened for them to come closer. There were four of them and it was possible for them to find her. She mentally face-palmed and walked to the edge. Not so smart to hide behind a wall. She heard the targets inch closer and decided it was too late to find a new hiding spot.
It was time for her to put their training to the test. Adrian heard nothing and began to worry they were trained enough to be completely silent.
"Where do you think they'd be hiding?" One of them asked.
Adrian used the time to backpedal and hide along a new wall that faced away from the ninjas.
"I'm not sure but the computer said that the picture was taken a couple blocks over there."
Picture? Someone saw us?
Adrian cursed inaudibly.
So much for being secret and silent. Next time they were gonna try to stay away from the edge, if possible.
She heard them stop where they were and brought her face to the edge.
"We could search here and see if they're hiding somewhere?" Adrian rolled her eyes.
Something like that would happen to them.
