A grunt was heard in an empty, abandoned, alleyway followed by a loud crash. Thoughts raced through his mind as thought about the things he shouldn't've said to Leo. He growled. He shrugged the thoughts off. Being outside made him feel a whole lot better than being stuck in a houseful of annoying brothers. He climbed up a nearby fire escape.
Stupid Leo started it anyway. If he was leader he would've been able to catch those vigilantes. A run seemed like a perfect idea right about now. Anything that could keep his mind off that argument with Leo would probably be better. He rolled his eyes and sighed. "Whatever. Maybe I'll find those ninjas on my own."
"You've heard about them too?" Someone asked.
Raph drew out his Sais. He looked around him and saw a small figure leaning on a water tower just above him. It was definitely a girl. The voice gave it away. She was in a relaxed position, her arm was up against the wall of the tower and her other hand was on her hip. Actually, the position looked kinda forced. Raph wouldn't be too comfortable in that spot.
The girl hopped off the water tower gracefully and landed in the shadows. "They kinda looked weird-ish. If...you catch my drift." He furrowed his 'brow'.
"They were mutants. Right?" She asked. He slowly put away his Sais.
"How would you know?" She blew raspberries and waved a hand.
"I'm hurt... Can't you tell?" She said in a fake pained voice. Raph looked at the girls figure again. Where had the tail and ears come from? Or had they been there the whole time? He frowned.
"Anyway, if I remember my studies, teenaged boys weren't supposed to be that tall."
Raph stayed quiet.
"Lemme guess...You're in a bad mood so you don't have time to play games with a fox?" Raph growled lowly. "Don't worry. You're not alone. I just got back with a fight from the sweet one who was messin' with the Alpha." Raph listed his head slightly and smirked. It was quiet before he looked at the girls figure again.
"You're a fox?"
"Please don't sing 'what does the fox say?' I already hear that from my sisters." He let a snicker pass through his lips. He saw her ears perk up. She giggled.
"Cute laugh. What's your name, joker? And why ya so down?" He smiled. "Raphael. Raph's fine. I got back from a fight with my older brother."
"Aw, too bad. I'm Adriana. Curse the name. You can call me Adrian though. All my friends call me that. Anyway, I'm surprised you haven't run away yet." He looked at her.
"Well, I am a turtle." Her eyes widened. "What?" She asked, shocked.
"Yeah."
She shuffled in the dark."Aw, man...This isn't good. I mean, hey. You're a flirt, Raph. And it's not that you being a turtle isn't great. It's awesome! You're...I'm not gonna finish that sentence. Uh, gotta go. K.I.P!" She shouted, sprinting at full speed away from the red masked rogue. He smiled, confused, at her disappearing figure as she ran and heard his T-phone go off. Mikey.
Where u at, Raph?
Raph rolled his eyes and texted back:
I'm comin
He was at the edge of the fire escape until he stopped himself. Adrian was pretty funny. Especially for someone he couldn't see because of the dark.
He continued down the escape.
