Dangerous Soldiers (A TMNT FanFic)

Chapter 2- Suit up

Adrian straightened her back and tugged at the sash on her uniform for the mission.
There was a black mask that covered her long black hair, went around her dark brown eyes, and let her fox ears stick out. A snug long-sleeved black shirt and pants that were as tight and snug as her shirt. Her tail out like her ears. And a midnight blue sash that was tied around her hips.
Sure, it was a little loose but at this time she was only worried about how her friends were taking this mission. They had been together for a long time to where Adrian always caught herself calling them her sisters.
Her family.
Adrian glanced at herself in the mirror in front of her. She was slouching on the mahogany bench,waiting for her friends to finish getting dressed. Standing up, she went to touch the mirror.
Her brown orbs ran over her uniform. They would look exactly like a ninja.
She smirked at the thought.
They all knew a whole lot more than ninjitsu. They knew other Martial Arts, Military combat techniques, anything that could make someone bleed. Adrian shivered in both disgust and excitement at the word 'blood'.
Her hand hovered over the mirror for a second before pulling it back when she heard someone about to come out the locker room.
She faced towards the door and saw Jade in an identical uniform but with a very dark colored green sash tied around her hips.
Jade smiled sheepishly at Adrian, her hazel eyes clouded with nervousness. Her tail was out like Adrian's and her short, dirty blonde hair was tucked inside her mask in a mess manner. She laughed and walked up to Jade.
"Yeah. That's not gonna work." Adrian told her. Jade huffed a strand of hair out of her face. She tucked the hair into Jade's mask and nodded in satisfaction.
Jade's eyes shifted to the mirror so she could see her reflection as Carmen came in squealing.
"Look at my sisters 'foxy' uniform!" Carmen shouted, teasing Adrian. Adrian smirked and saw Carmen's green grape colored eyes sparkle with excitement. Her black coyote ears were out but they matched as perfectly as her tail with the uniform. Adrian saw a small strand of light brown hair stick out of her head. Carmen whined as she tried to stick it back in, her dark pink sash swishing as she turned.
Adrian smiled as she turned around to see an angry Sam walking out the dressing room. "Why'd we have to wake up so early for this?" She complained. Carmen spun around getting a look at Sam. "You look so pretty, Sammie!!!" She exclaimed. Sam rolled her dark blue orbs and her dotted tail twitched in annoyance. She rolled her fists in her silver colored sash that matched her ears and tail.
"What time is it?" She asked.
"Uhm, well, we have to be at the HQ in ten minutes. Gives us two minutes to hang out for a while." Carmen said glancing at her watch. They all stayed quite for a time before Adrian exhaled. "Since we've all been thinking about it, I'm just gonna go out and say it." All eyes drifted to Adrian.
"About... Our abilities." Everyone rustled. Sam bounced her legs in discomfort.
"We can't use them, can we?" Jade asked, looking at her friends. Silence followed her question.
"I-I'm not exactly sure." Adrian replied honestly.
"What about the vow? We promised we wouldn't use them." Carmen said, her excitement long gone.
"This is our first mission. Probably our last if it doesn't go the way it's supposed to. We can't disappoint The Shredder." Sam said, her eyes flickering to Adrian's.
"You of all people know that." Sam added, still watching Adrian with a caring gaze that didn't come too often from Sam. Before anyone could add anything else, Carmen's watch beeped. The girls pulled their masks over their mouths so that only their eyes, tails, and ears could be seen.
"Let's get goin'." Adrian told them, opening the door.
