You flutter your eyes open. You squinted as the bright lights of the room made your head hurt. You hear something beeping next to you. You look down and see that you're wearing a hospital gown, and on your arm is an IV going into your skin. Most of all you were confused about what happened.
"Sweetheart?"
You look over to see Eddie sitting in a hospital chair.
"Hm?" You hummed. "What happened?"
"You don't remember?" He asked.
You shake your head.
"Well, the bats got to you, we didn't think you were going to make it, but then Steve checked your pulse and it was still beating," Eddie sighed.
"Oh,"
You sit up with a grunt of pain in your stomach and Eddie grabs your hand.
"How're you feeling?"
"I'm okay, just tired," you replied to him.
Eddie leans forward and kisses the top of your head.
"Jeez you scared me,"
"M'sorry," you give a weak smile.
"It's alright, I'm just glad that you're okay," Eddie said softly.
"Are they all here?"
"No," Eddie looked down for a moment. "Steve, Robin, and Dustin all went to the school to give them more supplies,"
"Oh, for what?" You asked.
"Sweetheart, Vecna won,"
"What, no, how?" You shake your head. "I thought our plan worked?"
"Part of it did," he smiled. "But, he got to Max and the gates opened,"
"No," your eyes line with tears. "That means, oh gosh,"
"Don't worry, she's not dead," Eddie said quickly. "She's in the hospital,"
You stayed silent.
"What are we gonna do?"
"I don't know," Eddie whispered.
"Wait, how are you here right now?" You asked. "Aren't you wanted for murder?"
"Jim Hopper is back," Eddie smiled. "And I got cleared, so I won't be going anywhere,"
"Our whole world is changing Eddie. This isn't normal,"
"I know," Eddie said softly. "But we'll figure something out, I promise,"
Eddie climbs into the hospital bed with you and you both lay in each other's company. He rubs your arms as you lay your head on his chest. It was very unsettling to hear that Hawkins was destroyed. But you knew that it wasn't over just yet.
