"He taught her that courage wasn't the absence of fear-it was running anyway, especially if someone you loved was running beside you."
"They were an unlikely equation-the boy who ran from monsters and the girl who stood her ground. But in the space...

*💚Third Person's POV💚*
They met Fred and Velma in a narrow, torch-lit passageway, their faces flushed with exertion and discovery.
"I found a neat and scary clue," Daphne announced, holding up a strange, pyramid-shaped object covered in odd symbols.
"Us too," Velma said, adjusting her glasses. "We think this is a brainwashing facility for an evil cult."
"Well, maybe this is the sacred relic thingy they worship," Daphne suggested, waving the pyramid.
"We're all gonna be relics if we don't get out of here, man," Shaggy whispered urgently, his eyes wide. Heavy, synchronized footsteps were echoing from a connecting corridor, growing closer.
Acting fast, the gang melted into the shadows. Fred, Velma, Daphne, and Shaggy pressed themselves against alcoves, mimicking the stiff poses of the decrepit suits of armour and grotesque statues lining the hall. Julia, finding no suitable statue, ducked behind a thick stone pillar, her heart hammering against her ribs.
A group of people in dark uniforms—employees of Mondavarious—marched into the junction. Julia held her breath, listening intently.
"Sir, they found the Daemon Ritus," one voice reported, tense.
"For your sake, they better not have gone far," a colder, authoritative voice replied.
A heavy thud followed, like something—or someone—being dropped. "It is time to summon the big muchachos," the leader declared.
The footsteps resumed, fading down a different passage. Julia waited a few agonizing seconds before peeking out. The coast seemed clear.
"Oh, no," Shaggy's nervous whisper cut the silence. An accidental, tiny fart escaped him.
It was enough.
The small, flickering torch flame near Velma's hiding spot flared with a sudden WHOOSH, creating a minor but dramatic explosion of light and sound.
"ZOINKS!"
"JINKIES!"
They burst from their hiding places in a panic, stumbling over each other in a frantic, slapstick dash for the nearest exit. The sheer absurdity of their escape—from cultists to a fart-induced flameout—hit them all at once. As they spilled out of the castle's side entrance into the cool night air, their fear dissolved into breathless, hysterical laughter.
Shaggy, still giggling, didn't let go of Julia's hand. He held it tightly all the way back to the hotel, his thumb tracing gentle circles on her knuckles.
*💚Julia's POV💚*
We arrived back at the hotel lobby, the adrenaline fading into a pleasant exhaustion. The night had been terrifying, bizarre, and oddly wonderful—mostly because Shaggy was still holding my hand, his warmth a steady comfort.
"Mystery Inc., you all seem rather... cheery. Good news, I hope?" The voice of Emile Mondavarious stopped us in our tracks. He emerged from a shadowy nook; his expression unreadable.
"Mr. Mono...neudeosis?" Fred butchered the name.
The owner's smile tightened. "Yes?"
"We have hit a clue smorgasbord!" Fred announced proudly. Velma held up the Daemon Ritus, its strange symbols catching the light.
"We have three suspects as to who's behind this evil hoodoo," Daphne added.
"N'Goo Tuana," Velma stated. "He believes your theme park's been built on enchanted ground." She referred to the island's resident mystic she'd seen leading the unsettling bonfire ceremony.
"The voodoo man, who shrewdly tricked me into going to the castle," Daphne said, her tone implying she was onto him.
All eyes turned to me. I met Mondavarious's curious gaze. "And then there's you," I said calmly. "As our last suspect."
"Me?" He blinked, all practiced innocence.
"Gang, let's split up," Fred declared, slipping back into his leadership role. "We'll meet back here in half an hour. I'll interview employees, see if they've noticed anything odd."
"I'm gonna get to work translating these inscriptions that Daphne found," Velma said, already examining the relic.
"I'll go research cults on the net. Julia, you care to join me?" Daphne asked, glancing my way.
My eyes instinctively drifted to Shaggy. I wanted nothing more than to stay, to finally have that conversation his confession on the pier had started. But the mystery called.
"Yeah, sure," I said, offering Shaggy a small, regretful smile before following Daphne.
*💚Third Person's POV💚*
Shaggy watched her go, the warmth of her hand lingering in his. A hollow ache settled in his chest. He didn't want her to leave his side, not now, not when they were so close to... something. But he knew the drill. The mystery always came first.
In the hotel's dimly lit computer nook, hours slipped by. Daphne eventually stretched and stood. "You coming?" she asked Julia, who was still hunched over the monitor, her eyes scanning line after line of dense text.
"I'm gonna keep looking. I'll join you guys a little later," Julia mumbled, barely looking up.
Daphne shrugged and left. Julia was alone, the blue glow of the screen painting her face in stark relief. She was onto something. The patterns she was seeing—reports of mass behavioural shifts, strange rituals linked to specific locations—they mirrored what was happening on Spooky Island with chilling accuracy. Pieces were beginning to click into a terrifying whole.
Then she heard it.
A low, guttural, animalistic breathing directly behind her chair. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end.
Slowly, dread seeping into her veins, she turned.
A massive, mutated face loomed in the darkness, features distorted and monstrous. Its eyes glowed with malevolent intent. Paralyzed by sheer terror, Julia couldn't move, couldn't scream.
The creature's maw yawned open. A thick, green vapor billowed forth, engulfing her. It smelled of sulphur and decay. She tried to hold her breath, but the smoke seeped into her pores, her lungs. A woozy, disconnected feeling washed over her, pulling her consciousness down into a deep well.
In the distance, she heard screams—her friends' voices, yelling, the sound of frantic running. A silent prayer for their safety flickered in her fading mind.
The last sensations she registered were rough, powerful hands grabbing her, dragging her from the chair like a ragdoll, and a sharp, blinding pain exploding at the back of her skull.
