*💚Julia's POV💚*

To say I was nervous was the understatement of the century.

Daphne and Velma had been my co-conspirators for weeks, helping me plan a surprise for Shaggy. In my mind, it wasn't a big deal—just a heartfelt gesture. But the other two had stared at me, wide-eyed, when I'd laid out the plan.

"It's a man's job, not a woman's," Daphne had stated, aghast.

Her words went in one ear and out the other. This wasn't about tradition. This was about us.

Velma, bless her logical heart, became my logistical mastermind. We chose a spot near our old high-school clubhouse, where the woods met the quiet lake. The air smelled of pine and damp earth, a perfect October scent. We strung fairy lights through the branches of a large oak, creating a canopy of soft, twinkling stars. A thick plaid blanket was spread on the ground, surrounded by flickering lanterns. A simple picnic, but I wanted every detail to be perfect.

As the day drew closer, I enlisted Fred and Scooby. Their enthusiasm was immediate and overwhelming. Scooby was put in charge of the picnic basket. "Pack all of Shaggy's favourites," I'd instructed. Scooby had saluted, a look of profound seriousness on his face. Knowing him, the basket would contain everything from triple-decker sandwiches to a whole pumpkin pie.

Fred's job was the most crucial: keep Shaggy occupied and utterly unsuspecting. They spent Halloween afternoon on a "nostalgia tour" of all the worst haunted houses in Coolsville, a tradition Shaggy loved. Fred reported back via text: He's scared, happy, and completely clueless. Mission accomplished.

As night fell, Daphne swooped in. "Okay, Willows. Your turn." She dragged me to her room, which looked like a makeup counter had exploded. My Halloween costume was already laid out—something she'd chosen, a secret she'd guarded fiercely.
