*💚Julia's POV💚*

Waking up blindfolded and bound to a chair in a dank, echoing cave was not how I'd imagined this mystery unfolding. The rough rope bit into my wrists, and the musty scent of earth and mildew filled my nostrils. My world was darkness and sound.

Somewhere above me, voices murmured and chanted. I strained to listen, my heart a frantic drum against my ribs.

"...the canine is essential... pure animal essence for the convergence..."

"...and the girl? The strawberry-haired one?"

"The second sacrifice. The Darkopolypse ritual requires two untouched vessels. The others, we drained their protoplasm. But her... she is preserved for the Unveiling."

A cold, visceral terror seized me. Sacrifice. Vessel. I was a commodity to them, a piece in their horrific ritual. And Scooby... they needed him too. The loneliness was almost as suffocating as the bonds. I sat in the oppressive dark, praying the gang was putting the pieces together. Praying they'd find us before the chanting reached its crescendo.

*💚Third Person's POV💚*

Daphne awoke with a start as a volleyball smacked her square in the face. They'd fallen asleep on the pier, waiting for a Coast Guard that never came. Dawn had broken.

Rubbing her cheek, Daphne sat up and looked toward the hotel. Her blood ran cold. "Something messed up is happening," she muttered.

The others stirred. "Is the Coast Guard here?" Shaggy mumbled, sitting up. He followed Daphne's gaze. "What happened to the shattered windows and the busted walls?"

It was true. The hotel stood pristine, gleaming in the morning sun as if the previous night's monstrous invasion had never happened.

"Yo, Red! The ball!" a cheerful voice called. A group of students waved from the beach. Dazed, Daphne threw the ball back. "Let's go," she said, her voice low and urgent.

As they moved through the resurrected park, the contrast was surreal. Students laughed, music played, everything was disgustingly normal. Shaggy walked like a man in a minefield, flinching at every loud noise. "Does anyone else think this is strange?" he whispered.

"Okay, we need to split up," Daphne announced.

"Why?" Shaggy's voice pitched high with fear.

"We still need to find Fred, Velma, and Julia," Daphne reminded him, her tone brooking no argument.

"I'll go this way," Mary-Jane offered, pointing down a path.

"And we'll go with you," Shaggy suggested quickly, wanting safety in numbers.
