A week has passed by now and nothing has really changed. "Uhm Katsuki, could you call me really quick. I dunno where I have put my phone." "Oh yeah sure." The boy quickly called Evelyn, making her phone ring underneath the blanket. He reached out to grab it, but the black haired girl was faster. She stuttered a quick 'thank you'. He was able to glance at the screen of Evelyn's phone, seeing his contact name saved as 'Katsu <3', this made the boy blush a bit. "Let's leave or we will be late." Evelyn hurried, taking her back and speeding down the stairs. "Katsu, are you coming?" She looked up to the blonde, signalling him to hurry. "Yes ma'am" he saluted playfully obeying the girl. Both went on their way to school as usual.
Class seemed especially boring today, the teacher was talking about some random topic. Evelyn wasn't really listening, being captured in the fictional world of her novel. "Hey shorty! Attention!" Katsuki whisper screamed, repeatedly tapping on her shoulder. "Huh what?" The girl looked up, with a confused expression adorning her face.
"What is so interesting that you are completely unaware of your surroundings?" He asked her teasingly, nudging her a bit. "Oh, uhm, I am reading a romance novel." She showed the cover of a book called 'Death and Roses'. "Hm seems interesting, what is it about?" Now the girl got nervous, remembering all the spicy scenes, which dominated the books. "Oh yeah, it plays in the 19th century, and it is about a love triangle between the main characters," Evelyn started telling the storyline, but of course leaving out the spicy parts.
The rest of the day, Evelyn was poring over her book, not really noticing that the blonde was reading her book by looking over her shoulder. "Katsuki, don't you want to sit down?" Suzan asked confused, "Nah, it is just getting interesting. His eyes glided over the pages, reading every word. "Interesting, what do you mean?" Evelyn looked up to him puzzled. "Your book" he grinned, pointing on the page. Her eyes darted between Katsuki and her book. "How much have you read?" She lifted a brow, but his answer did not satisfy her, rather the opposite. "The last 4 Chapters were quite interesting, especially the character interactions." He did have fun teasing the girl. Her cheeks reddened and the girl nodded in agreement. A smug grin was painted on his face, making the girl blush even more.
"You two are too cute, but now listen, guys." Éloïse intervened and started to tell the latest gossip. The atmosphere calmed down and chattering echoed around the table. "I will get a tea. Be right back." Evelyn quickly stood up, walking over to the vending machine. She got herself a cup of mint tea. Her focus was purely on the cup, not wanting to spill anything. She shrieked when a few drops landed on the floor. The boy rushed over, insisting on helping. "I can carry tea myself." the girl mumbled, focused on the cup. "No shorty. Now don't complain and let me help." He carefully took the cup and put it on the table. The two sat down again.
"Ah, finally school's over. It was quite boring, don't you think." The girl stated walking next to Katsuki.
The train was filled to the brim. Katsuki and Evelyn were standing, the girl holding on the handrails. Bodies were squished against them. The blonde scanned around them looking for creepy guys. In Japanese trains, it often occurred that creeps were trying to touch women inappropriately. Especially in such packed trains. "Hey shorty. We're changing places." He carefully turned the girl around by holding onto her hips. This gesture turned the girl's cheeks into a soft pink. Now she was standing between the train wall and Katsuki. He placed one hand next to her and the other held onto the bar above him.
Now finally leaving the train, they took a deep breath of fresh air. "Finally we left this sweaty prison. The only thing I was able to see was a sea of bobbing heads." The black haired girl grinned. "True true." Katsuki laughed. "Let me carry your bag, shorty." "Huh, oh yeah, sure." She mumbled, smiling at him thankfully.
Arriving home, Evelyn learned some Japanese with the help of Katsuki. In less than a month, she would fly to Japan. To say she was nervous was an understatement. She was frightened to go to a country where she did not speak the language. "Don't worry shorty. It will work out just fine and I will be there to help you communicate, okay?" The girl nodded, unsure and tried to give the boy a confident smile. They continued learning for the rest of the day.
"Sleep well Katsu." "Sleep well Shorty."
