"joe, chill," clem was stood at the other end of the kitchen island. Joey was looking out of her window, the I <3 NY mug in her hand. she had never hearted new york all that much to be realistic. she barely could cope with the everyday life of los angeles. she much preferred her little town life at the other end of california. buy that was irrelevant now, she was talking with clem, the big city hopper.
"why should i? its awful," she turned back around to look at clem. her hair was tucked behind her ears and running down her long dress. her hand was resting on the counter, covering a bundle of papers. a new contract.
"the plot is sellable, and the pay isn't awful-"
"but it's a terrible day! i don't get a break for a 9 hour shoot! i don't want to do that!"
they went silent suddenly. joey had barely raised her voice, though it felt as if it had been so heavy. she nearly began to cry, quickly rushing to clem's side. they held together for a while. joey couldn't put into words how much she appreciated her best friend. she could send her a message and clem would be at her side in 5 minutes flat with a snack.
"alright, it's alright. rip it up. it's only a movie."
"i wish it was just that." joey made a bittersweet smile. she knew she wasn't in the best place at the moment. she had to downsize her apartment 6 months ago, coasting off of each payslip she got. it would have been a fair sum to see in her bank, but she couldn't put herself through stressful filming days again. she really needed to pick up some new work soon. she loved the angel constellation a lot but they could only do so many seasons of it. she would have to start making big moves now or later.
