luke helped joey pull the suitcases out of his car, hands pulling like magnets towards one another. he walked her through every section of the airport that he could. straight to the boarding gate. she had thirty minutes left with him. what was she supposed to say?
"ok, remember, i'll text and call as much as i can. and i love you. no matter what."
"i love you too, joe," luke took both of her hands pulling the biggest smile he could. "the minute you come back, i need you to meet my dog, by the way."
"ahh yes!" joey giggled, "you talk about petunia so much, i wanna see her!"
"ill send as many pics as i can, if you want."
"sure!"
bing bong. flight XXXXX is ready for boarding.
joey silently let go and looked back at luke. he pulled her in for a few more moments, kissing her lips. he smiled, looking at her as she began to walk away. joey couldn't help the feeling in her stomach - she wanted to turn back around right now. it was like something was tugging her back. there was no paranoia to it; she hadn't lost her charger or anything like it. she just loved luke so much. and clem. the family she had built around her. now she had to do it again. but she knew that the second she came back to la, they would be there. waiting. and she was so glad.
