luke could hear his phone ringing on the side. he turned his head to look at the table where it was sat. he had curled himself up on the couch and had stayed there for a little too long to be happy. he had ignored the ringing for some time - it had started as a quiet noise in the background. growing louder until he couldn't ignore it anymore. he finally lurched his hand forward to see who was begging to talk to him so much.
"hey ash," luke felt his sore eyes tuck under his cheeks as he began to smile.
"dude, what happened?"
"oh, uhh," he hated lying to ashton, it felt like lying to his parents 'no, I didn't eat the chocolate' - the remains rubbed all over his mouth. "i couldn't really hear my phone."
"whatever, its fine. you're here now. i wanted to ask you something."
"hit me."
"look, I was hanging with michael today and he wants to plan a party. I think you should ask if joey wants to come."
well, it wasn't an awful idea. he really wanted to see joey again. but they hadn't messaged one another for a while. she was probably busy...
pfft. stupid excuses, he thought.
"yeah, sure, ill ask her later."
