Mk yelped as he was thrown into a cell, the grainy, wet and depressing ground sticking to him. He hated this. Yet, he felt numb. He didn't understand why this would happen to him. He was loyal, he was brave, he never broke any law, he did his duty! The crest on his neck burned, Mk flinching at the sensation. He knew the king only did this because he was thinking irrationally because of the betrayal, but why make Mk the target? How could he have known about this? The king knew Sun Wukong, he knew he'd never open up to anyone, especially his apprentice. Someone who looks up to him, someone who loved him. Of course, Mk didn't know how or what to feel for the stone monkey. It felt like a parent looking you in the eyes and saying they don't love, or were abandoning you. In conclusion, it hurt. A lot. Mk heard whispering, knowing the guards were talking about him.

"It's the traitor..he should rot in there! He must have told the monkey king to attack!" One whispered

"How would he do that? He's been in the castle the whole time. He doesn't deserve to be in confinement.." one sympathized.
Mk hated this, hated how they talked about him. He wanted to prove himself, but how could he? He was in prison, in a dungeon, in jail..for a crime he didn't commit. And it hurt him, a lot. he curled up in a corner, his hands grasping his sides, he couldn't help but feel sorry for himself. He didn't even look up when he heard the door to the prison creak open.

"Your majesty! Prince! What are you doing here!" A guard exclaimed, Mk heard as all the other demons contained started screeching, and trying to grab or claw the royals.

"Where is Qí Xiăotiān?" Mk heard the prince demand, he heard the clanking of the knights armor as he pointed. Mk continued his self wallowing, even as his heard the door to his cell open.

"Noodle brain. Look at me." The prince demanded,

Mk didn't do such thing, "M'lord, it's unwise to go into the cell of the 'kingdoms traitor'."

"But you aren't the kingdoms traitor." Redsons shot back,

"And how do you know that?" Mk grumbled,

"Because of you were, you wouldn't have saved my father." Redson said, his tone unusually soft. Mk stayed silent, not knowing what to say,

"How am I suppose to react to that?" Mk asked, his voice cracking in a pitiful way.

"Look up. Look at me. That's an order," finally, Mk obeyed, looking the prince in the eyes, Redson's eyes. Bright, fiery eyes. Redson seemed pissed, -moreso than usual-
"There. Not so difficult, was it?" I couldn't help but scoff at that. Redson rolled his eyes ignoring the action. "Get up."

I raised an eyebrow, "why?"

Redson looked at me like I was an idiot, "for your trial."

"Last time I checked, I don't have a trail." Mk grimaced,

"You're welcome." Redson smirked, putting his hand on his hip in a smug way.

Mk looked at him, his eyes wide in surprise. "You..got me a trail?" He asked, his voice low and jittery. Redson nodded, "why?" Mk asked. Redson paused, as if thinking for his reason.

"Because you're my knight, I can't have you rotting in jail without a chance to explain." Redson muttered, yet, no matter how embarrassed the prince was, he never turned away from Mk's gaze. It made Mk shutter, not I'm a scared way..Mk knew that, he didn't know what the prince was making him feel. But he did know, he was appreciated.
