Mk stepped into the prince's room. An area he had been in countless times, a place where he knew where every little thing was. Yet, at the moment, it felt foreign. It felt brand new. It felt... Weird.

He followed Redson, his hand still in the prince's as Redson seemed uncharacteristically clingy. He followed the prince inside, and soon, the two sat on the bed together, hand in hand.

The prince's gaze flicked from the ground to him and over again, his face uncharacteristically red. The two didn't speak for quite some time, Mk swigging his legs back and forth on the bed as he waited patiently for his prince to speak.

Eventually, his patience was given. "Sooo...~ what should we do...?" He asked, dragging out the words as a nervous energy surrounded him. Mk glanced up at him, smiling kindly and gently squeezing his hand.

"Why don't you talk about your newest invention?" He asked, tilting his head slightly. Mk didn't completely understand everything Redson spoke about, but he'd listened. If he understood nothing, he'd wait patiently before asking his questions, and Redson would go on another rant about his science.

Mk didn't mind. It was adorable.

Redson instantly brightened at the promise of talking about his passion. He smirked, the unusual nervousness dripped off of Redson slowly and revealed his true self. Mk knew so well now.
It was amazing how close people could be in just a few months.

"Well, in my newest invention I'm experimenting with the electromagnetic spectrum and deciding what amount of radiation would be too much for demons considering the amount is different for humans, but it is currently unknown since demons have a different biology compared to humans, as well as other demons!" Redson began, Mk smiling as he listened. All he knew was Redson was talking about light, radiation, and demons, but that was enough.

Redson was happy, and that's what Mk wanted.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Redson had talked for a while. Soon, the two had moved off the bed as Redson showed Mk the blueprints for his machine. "Once completed, it should hold enough nuclear power to create a bomb worthy explosion that would leave radiation in the area for a certain number of perdicted days, or even years!" Redson held it up.

"It isn't finished, however. But I need to understand how much of such radiation dmon's can withstand until a much needed evacuation." He continued his explanation, Mk looking down at the blueprints.

"Sooo... An atomic bomb?"

"Close. An atomic bomb, according to history, creates a mushroom-shaped dust cloud after impact and the explosion."

"Does this bomb create a... Mushroom-shaped  dust cloud after impact?"

"....maybe." Redson seemed amazed at that possibility, eagerly going back to his blueprint and scribbling aggressively. "Maybe I can turn this into actual blueprints for that... My fire should be hot enough to melt the iron needed to create the foundation... But I would need someone who can withstand the radiation and actually know how to catch  gamma rays."

"Uh-huh." Mk chuckled, moving behind Redson. The prince went rigid. "You're so passionate about science, hmm? It's adorable." Mk's breath was warm on the back of Redson's neck, his hair standing on edge as goosebumps covered his arms. He cheeks felt warm, and he glanced back.

"Um...y-yeah..."

"You admit you're cute?"

"Wha-WHAT! N-....no..."

Mk simply chuckled at Redson's suffering, backing away once he successfully drove the prince's mind away from anything to do with radiation and nuclear bombs.
"I, for one, think you shouldn't be so... Ambitious with danger, m'lord."

Mk's tone held a great deal of genuine concern. His gaze alone made Redson feel as though something pierced through his heart. He could feel the tip of his hair turn to flame from embarrassment. "Um..."

Redson paused before continuing, "I'll think about it. This could be helpful for the kingdom."

"Alright. But that should be enough for today." Mk grinned, shaking off his concern. He held Redson's hand, and Redson's heart started off quicker. It thumped in his chest, and he could swear he saw Mk's finger twitch in time with the beat.

He didn't know if Mk could actually hear his heartbeat or if it was his imagination.
"It's late." He spoke again, his tone seemingly softer than previous. Redson was given pajamas and rested into bed. Mk did a final sweep of the room, making sure that shadow monkey wasn't anywhere near before turning to the door.

"Good night, M'lord. Today was... Mystifying."

And with that, Mk closed the door. Leaving Redson longing for more.

(Hiii! Sorry for taking such a long time posting! I had some testing where I was at, and it took the entire week. 😒
I'm back, though!)

(Note; the story takes place where it is still the same time period, but it's where technology and advancements in humanity were backtrackked to around midevil times. Kind of, as shown there are some incredible timeskips in knowledge compared to back then and that's because of the history they have, (albeit very little now) are still the same/similar to the original Monkie Kid's technology.)
