Requested by @ThatOneCatMom on Quotev - "How about a Spring Bonnie x child reader ?" - Ahh, we step away from the angst! :D This one is actually super adorable and I had a lot of fun writing it! I hope you enjoy ^^ !

Fun Fact: This oneshot is set in the 1960s!

(Not that it's all that relevant to the story, it's just a fun note ^^)

~*~*~

You happily kicked your feet, your leather sandals squeaking against each other. You were cheerfully oblivious to the obnoxious sounds, doubled only by your older brother doing the same thing in the seat next to you. You both giggled as your family's car, a Bel Air, rolled over a pothole, making the two of you bounce.

The talk show host rambled on the radio about how special the day was, but you were hardly listening. You already knew how special today was-- it was Easter! Even more special, your small family was going somewhere you always passed by but rarely ever visited-- the small-time restaurant, Fredbear's Family Diner! You heard from classmates at school that there were animals there-- tall animals, that sang and danced!

The only two you knew from the rumours were a golden bear and a bunny. You wondered if there were more or if it was just the two, but you liked to imagine there were all sorts of farm creatures there. Your older brother, Peter, once got a look inside while he and your mother were walking downtown, and he told you there were only the bear and bunny. You would just have to find out for yourself when you got inside!

You asked Peter a thousand times what it looked like inside the diner. You couldn't help it-- you were just so curious! It was a mysterious brick building you rarely ever got to see-- well, you could probably see it more often, if you weren't always daydreaming during car rides like you were now. Still, Peter did his best to answer your questions, even though he didn't really get to see it either. The most he remembered were the dim, yellow lights, and the wooden stage in the very back, home to the animals you were so interested in. He'd never actually gone inside before, he could only tell you what he saw through the window.

You didn't mind, though-- any information he could give you was grounds for your creative six-year-old imagination to make its own! You imagined the tables and the large dining room-- if it was anything like the diner your family usually visited every Sunday for brunch, the floors would be checkered tile, the booths would be against the walls, and there would be cute little square tables spotting the remaining space here and there. There might even be a milkshake counter! You looked forward to the milkshakes the most!

That made you wonder something else, something that made you giggle every time you thought of it. Your family's favourite diner had a jukebox, a funny round machine with pretty lights that played any music you asked it to, if you had a dime. You wondered if this diner would have a jukebox, too-- but then what would the funny animals sing? You imagined that if you asked the machine to sing a song for you, it would give your request to the animals instead, and they would sing your song. It was funny to think of how they might communicate, or how the animals might even ask you, themselves! You didn't know if that's how it worked, but you hoped so. It was a silly thought, indeed!
