Summary: You've been dropped off at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex's daycare while your older brother applies for a job. It's your first time in such a place-- and without your brother!-- but you soon make yourself at home befriending the other children and the daycare attendant, Sun! There's just one rule, kiddo-- Keep the lights on-- ON..! On...
Requested by @Teaganlombax :) I hope I did a good job!
Side note: I didn't have Sun say anything about the 'lights on' rule, because I personally don't think he would have a need to tell children during the daytime about it. Also, you're about five or six years old, but you're a bit small for your age so you look a bit younger :)
On with the story!
~*~*~
Your little feet tapped against the shiny tile floors as you hopped along, trying to keep pace with your older brother. You picked at your lips nervously, your (e/c) eyes scanning the dim halls. Though there were neon lights everywhere, it still felt somehow dark. A soft squeeze squished your tiny fingers in your brother's palm, and you looked up to find a gentle smile beaming warmth down at you. "You're gonna be fine," Peter assured you. "It's just like going to school! You'll be surrounded by kids your age, in a fun place where you get to do fun things! The Daycare Attendant is super nice, too! You'll love him, I promise. Okay?" You nodded along.
You weren't really nervous about being dropped off at daycare, though. You were worried about leaving your older brother. Sure, you knew he was going to be in the same building as you, but the last time you were separated from one of your older siblings... she didn't come back. Peter never told you what happened to Wendy. You just knew you couldn't see her anymore. It made you sad to think that now Peter had to do all the hard work by himself, and you wouldn't get to see him as much anymore. He assured you that wouldn't happen, though.
"Will you be okay?" you asked Peter, doing your best to squeeze his hand like he'd done for you. "What are you talking about? I'll be fine!" Peter chuckled, but you stared through him. The sweat on his brow, his eyes darting each direction, the sluggishness in his steps as you neared your destination... You could tell he was just as nervous as you were, but was doing his best not to show it.
You decided to mimic his bravery, making him laugh as you sucked in a deep breath and puff out your chest. You took longer strides, your little feet thmp-ing in your slightly big sneakers and your backpack bumping lightly against your rump while you pretended to be bigger than you were. You were "just a little tyke," after all!
Peter removed his hand from yours long enough to ruffle your hair, making you giggle. You reached up to grab his hand again, your older brother moving it around just above you so you couldn't reach until you finally jumped up and snagged it. "Ahhhh," he groaned playfully, pretending to be defeated. You giggled at your victory.
"I'm only going to be gone for an hour-- two at most, if I get this job!" Peter grinned from ear to ear, pounding his free fist against his chest while you swung your hands between you. "I've already worked it out! And..." his smile faltered just a moment, "... Whether I get this job or not, we'll still be getting ice cream. Okay?"
"Yay!" you cheered, bouncing a little extra on your heels. "Don't worry, though! You'll be awesome!!" You grinned cheerfully, making your older brother relax some as you rambled. "You're always super cool and really nice! And you work real hard! They'll love you just like I love you-- oh, but not as much, okay?" you paused, frowning up at him seriously. "No one can ever love you as much as I do. They can love you almost as much, but not more than that, okay!"
