"Once again, thank you Akashi." I bowed as I got out of the car. He didn't reply, I turned around and opened the gate with the car still behind me.

"Asuma." I froze and turned around at the use of my first name.

"You look more beautiful with short hair." He mentioned before the car left leaving me there with a dumbfounded expression and a fast beating of my heart.

My hair, my short red and orange hair. He's really confusing me.

He told me he couldn't love me. But he also told me he never left me.

He told me he's not coming back. But he saved me.

He kissed me. But he remained distant and aloof from me.

And now, he compliments me. And then leaves me.

"That Akashi....he's confusing." I muttered to myself as I entered the house.

-

"What?! The jerk did what?" Yameshi shouted through the phone after I told her what just happened to me after she left with Kise-kun.

Everything that has happened in excruciating details.

"I swear if I see that guy's face tomorrow, I'll mangle his insides." She said with hostility.

"No, I'll be doing that. But what I'm wondering about is why Akashi was there? Was it just a coincidence that he was there at the right place and right time?" I wondered.

"I really have so many questions right now for him right now."

"Akiyo-san, maybe you should try approaching him and ask him those questions yourself. I mean, wondering and wondering by yourself is only going to lead to unproved conclusions." Yameshi answered through phone.

"I know that is the best way to clear everything, but you see, Akashi treats me as if I'm almost a stranger." I sighed.

"Well, I don't know. I'm not good at this kind of stuff. Look at me and Ryouta, it had to go as far as him hurting himself before I finally opened my ears to hear him out. You shouldn't let things go as far as that." She explained. So she uses his first name now...

"I know. But it already did go as far as self-harming for me but nothing happened. I'm trying to forget what I just did to myself. The scars are still here to prove it all; even my short hair is a proof." I said as I stroked my hair.

"If that's the case, then I don't really know." She sighed.

"It's ok, sorry for waking you up." I assured her.

"It's was best friends are for right?" She said with a yawn.

"Yeah, you should probably return to your sleep. I'll see you in school tomorrow. Bye." I hung up.

I guess it really is great to have such a best friend. Akashi and I were inseparable back then, we were always together everywhere that I didn't bother making new friends.

I guess it backfired in my face.

-

I made my way to the classroom eager for payback. That jerk, he will pay.

I entered and was surprised to see many students already even though it's still very early in the morning.

I frowned when I saw the girls crowding upon a certain brunette.

I actually expected him to be absent due to what he did yesterday. But no, this guy does have a thick face. I placed my bag and was about to just approach him and punch him in the face but there were many students surrounding him.
