sitting in the hospital, you cry in meguru's arms.
yoichi has just gone to buy coffee for meguru and himself and a cocoa for you.
it happened so fast, you couldn't even realize what was happening until yoichi yelled at you to call the ambulance.
flashbacks of the incident plague you and again and again you grip tighter into the soft fabric of meguru's jacket. he calms you down, whispers sweet words into your ear, gently runs his hand over your back.
whenever your tears start running again, he puts his big hand to the back of your head and then presses it into his chest.
you never imagined ever being so intimate with meguru, the guy you detest to the core, but who is just the only one there.
or maybe you just imagine seishiro holding you in his arms.
even though they couldn't be more different, they radiate the same warmth.
"shhhh, it's okay. it's going to be okay," he whispers in your ear again. but you don't hear him at all, because the images come to your mind.
it's your fault, isn't it? of course, you shouldn't have reacted like that, you should have been a good daughter.
[flashback]
"no!," you pull your wrist roughly, with all the strength you can muster out of your father's grip. he stumbles back, startled, before his hand rushes to his chest and touches it in pain. his face shows you that this is anything but good, but your anger prevents you from seeing the warning signs and thinking only of yourself.
"i'm tired of listening to you or yoichi or meguru! i love seishiro, okay? he's the first one who understands me and with whom i can imagine my future," you scream at the top of your lungs, ignoring the burning pain in your throat and the realization that your voice will surely be gone by the time you're done here.
your father looks at you, yoichi looks at you and anri has also come running out of the kitchen to see what the noise is about.
at the sight of it, she holds her hands in front of her mouth in shock and stands frozen. soon bursting with rage, you just decide to go to your room, can't see your father's face anymore — you hate him right now.
something you will maybe regret.
you're his everything and he just wants to protect you, doesn't want to make the same mistake as with his wife or rather your mother.
he just can't lose you as well.
not looking back once you sprint up the stairs, but the words are on your tongue, you just have to get rid of them. "oh yes, in case you haven't noticed. i'm not a minor anymore and i can decide about my life. you have nothing more to say to me and you can't ground me. so watch me leave the house to seishiro right now and don't come back!" the words fall out of your mouth without thinking about what consequences they will have.
"y/n, stop right there!" your father squeezes out, wanting to run after you, but the pain in his chest makes him collapse in front of the stairs. he doesn't think he can breathe and the flickering in front of his eyes becomes more and more intense until he passes out.
"y/n!" yoichi screams at the top of his lungs, his voice trembles, something is wrong.
looking back for the first time, you see a sight you hoped you would never have to see. your father lies on the floor, anri kneels beside him and tries to wake him up.
"call the fucking ambulance, y/n" yoichi yells and immediately you nod, awkwardly digging your phone out of the back pocket of your jeans, which you've swapped for the summer dress, calling the ambulance.
you're numb, not feeling the warm tears running down your cheeks and not feeling like you're the one who called meguru's number.
[flashback end]
since yoichi rode in the ambulance with your father, meguru took you to the hospital, but instead of leaving again, he stayed with you and didn't leave your side for a second.
"how is he?" you jump up when your brother comes back with the coffee and your cocoa, but just now he was talking to a doctor.
his hair is tousled, a sign that he's been through it a few times; he always does this when he's worried or stressed.
"he was lucky. the heart attack wasn't very severe and he'll pull through. but it takes time, and after all that, he definitely needs rest. i've already called his family doctor and found a place in a clinic through him" sitting down exhausted on a chair next to you he hands you your cocoa.
yoichi sees your look and can interpret it perfectly.
you blame yourself.
you blame yourself for everything that has happened.
but it's not your fault — your father has been suffering from high blood pressure for a long time, and with the stress he gets from the company, it was a matter of time before something like this happened.
"don't blame yourself, angel," meguru says what yoichi was about to say but didn't know how to express.
your brother has problems like this from time to time and doesn't know how to comfort you or help you when you're not feeling well.
"y/n?" a person shouts, making everyone in the hallway look at the person who is walking briskly toward you.
shocked, you stand up and run into the open arms of seishiro, who immediately hugs you tightly, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
both of you are so focused on each other that you don't see the gaze of meguru and yoichi; meguru, whose eyes are staring at you from jealousy and pain, and yoichi, who is looking dangerously at seishiro.
