I didn't know where to put this short story, but  I really like it and am putting it here.

Moon Child:

This wasn't one of the typical nurses. She was scared and Luna's wolf-like glare was piercing. The poor startled nurse dropped a small bag and hurried out of the room. The bag of candy lifted off the ground and floated towards Luna. Some of the hospital staff thought Luna was a witch. The way things floated towards her combined with her piercing gaze and white hair was intimidating.

¨Thank you, Joy, ¨ A small yellow spirit had dropped the bag in Luna's lap.

The spirits were invisible to everyone but her. They were partially the reason she was here. Not that she blamed them. The four were her only friends after all. She fumbled with the candy bag tossing some up to the spirits above her head. Suddenly something hit her on the back of her head. She picked it up. It was a small piece of candy. Luna looked up.

¨Where's Patience?¨ The quiet spirit had disappeared.

¨She was just here,¨ Peace said. Calm as always the pale blue spirit floated in a meditating position.

¨I'm sure she's fine...¨ Hope trailed off.

Joy was bobbing up and down nervous.

¨What if we all disappear? And never come back! Ever!¨

¨Calm down Joy,¨ Peace said softly, while still meditating.

Joy was muttering under her breath now.

¨Puppies, rainbows, candy...¨ she started.

¨Oh, not candy! Candy made Patience disappear!¨ The three spirits grew louder in their chatter.

¨Quiet,¨ Luna whispered. ¨I think I heard something.¨

The spirits stopped talking, and Luna tensed.

A rusty creaking sound scraped along outside. It's probably nothing, she thought. Just a hospital cart. Then it stopped. It's fine. Luna laid back on the pillows. The door to her room creaked. She froze dead still. A figure in a dark hooded cloak stood in the doorway holding a rusted ax. Luna stood frozen as the figure started to walk towards her, the ax creaking when it moved. She backed up pressing against the wall. No! A window! The glass panel swung out and Luna tumbled over the edge. Screaming as she hurtled through the air from her second-floor window.

¨What happened?¨ Luna asked.

¨We don't know!¨ Joy cried. ¨Patience is still missing, and...¨

¨You were brought back inside after you fell,¨ answered Peace.

¨Are you alright?¨ Hope asked.

¨I'm fine, my head hurts a bit but I'm fine.¨

Hope didn't seem very convinced that Luna was okay but for the next few days, things went by without incident. Other than them all worrying about Patience, things were back to normal. Or as normal as they could be when you were in a hospital for mental insanity. People questioned her daily and told her it was all delusions. Halloween crept closer, with more bags of candy dropped by, and more scared nurses. It seemed no one wanted to visit the ¨witch's¨ room as the holiday approached. It didn't help much that Luna's birthday was Halloween. Nurses would drop her meals off just inside her room and flee before they had to see any ¨witchcraft¨ make the things float through the air. On Halloween no one came to give Luna her first two meals, scared to go to her room. So when the door opened at dinner time,

Luna called out sarcastically,¨So you decided to feed me, did you?¨

Then she heard it. The creaking was back. If it's a delusion it can't hurt me. If it isn't I'm dead. Glancing toward the window she considered her options. As the creaking grew closer she turned to the window and jumped. Pain spiked in her legs and she stumbled, but as she heard the wood splintering above she was spurred on.
