It was quite late at night, you didn't know what time exactly exactly but you felt like you needed air. All of the slayers were most likely asleep and wouldn't need your help till morning.

You felt so suffocated and for why you didn't know, it was probably because that demon slayer from earlier.

You stood up and grabbed your hoari from off the floor, (you had let you room be come extremely messy after getting back from the butterfly mansion.) You slipped on your hoari and you headed out of the room. You tried to make your way out of the house quietly as to not wake anyone up.

You slid open the door and stepped onto the engawa and closed the door. You wanted go to the lake again, it had frozen over by now you thought you could take a stroll on the ice.

What a stupid idea that was.

You passed several trees and began walking on a small path, although you wouldn't have been able to tell there was a path there, the snow covered the ground and no one had walked through here since the first time you met Tomioka.

You passed the rocks and went onto the ice, you never once feared it would crack under you

You continued walking further and further away for shore not minding anything and just enjoying the cold air.

What? You looked down to see the ice cracking under your feet. You quickly got on your hands and knees to distribute your weight.

Your so stupid you should've known it only froze over a couple weeks ago, of course the ice would still be thin. Idiot, idiot, Idiot!

CRACK!!!

The ice underneath your body completely cracked open and the cold water sucked you in.

You hadn't even had the chance to scream before water entered your lungs. You clouds breath at all the could see bubbles of your air float to the surface. You keep sinking though, despite all your struggling. Away from the surface away from life.

You wanted to scream but you had no air left. Your vision spotted till you could only see the moon and some stars through the water. It was blurry.

You wanted to cry and probably were crying. How could you be so stupid.

Someone peered into the whole and immediately jumped into the water after you. You've never been more happy to see his blue eyes and black hair... His eyes seemed to blend in with the water.

He grabbed your hand and pulled you towards him, he wrapped his arm around your waist and started swimming towards the surface. You idiot, that was your last thought before completely blacking out.

Two times that day you were saved by Giyu, you were thankful but in the later months you almost wished he did pull you out of water.

"(Y/n)-san.. Wake up." You felt someone gently nudge your shoulder. You slowly opened you eyes and were met with the same deep blue eyes from last night.

"Tomioka-san..?" You looked around you were in your room, and you were wearing a different kimono then last night.

"Dont worry I had one of the female slayers change you, I didn't want you to catch a cold."

"I see..." You were to embarrassed to ask about what happened after he pulled you out.

"Why were you on that ice..? What were you trying to do? That was stupid." Tomioka looked away from you, he was angry at you for being so dumb. Because what if he hadn't went out for a walk as well, hadn't heard the ice cracking?

You felt hit tears sting your eyes.

"I'm sorry I truly am, I thought the ice was thicker... I didn't mean to worry you especially after you already helped me..." You sat and covered your face with your hands. Giyu silently looked back at you and now felt guilty. But why should he it was your own stupidity that got you in the situation.

"I don't mind helping you..." Was all he said before he stood up to leave.

"Dont go..." You said in a whisper, you wanted him to stay with you. "Please don't leave me.." He turned around and looked at you, you with tears streaming down your face and a pained expression, you hand was reaching out towards him. His chest felt heavy, and tightened.

He didn't respond to you, but sat down beside you. You wrapped your arms around him and buried your face into his side. Again he tensed up but calmed down, he wrapped his arm around you.

Again you were crying into the body of a man you hardly knew, but you just couldn't stop yourself. You felt so childish. And so worn out... What time was it? No one had knocked on your door yet and the sun didn't seep through your curtains. It was still night time...

In the night, you so foolishly walked onto thin ice and fell into the water. But even then you felt a little better when you could see the moon and stars through the water. The night that was so calming yet so scary. That was she first time you left your home after dark in months.

You looked up at Tomioka he was starting at the door, his eyes seemed so cold and lonely. Exactly how the water felt... You owe him your life...

His eyes shifted to yours, his cold stare seemed to soften, even if it was only slightly, you noticed.

"Tomioka..." You mumbled.

"Giyu please." He said and you nodded.

"Giyu.. I'm sorry for causing you trouble it won't happen again I promise." He only shook his head as he looked away from you.

"(Y/n)-san thats not a promise you can keep, trouble always comes and goes. But just know when I'm here you'll be safe I will keep you out of harms way for the time I am here. And when we meet again I will."

You took great comfort in his words and returned your face to his side. All while you mumbled out thank yous and praises.
