3 MONTHS LATER

OLAYEMI IBRAHIM

Working with Khaya has made me realise that I have either gone weak or soft because there's no way my people would betray me so easily and I wouldn't even notice. I'll admit, I have become ignorant of what is going on around me, maybe it's because I'm too trusting of the man I once was but all that has changed. For the sake of my children and my grandchildren, I have had to step up into who the world knows Olayemi as. The twins are turning three months and Adae has worked hard to earn her place back into my good books but I'm not as trusting because it's the same trust that has led us to where we are today. Adi and I have been doing some cleaning in my circle and let's just say it's going great. It's been too long since I got involved in the kill and actually enjoyed it. I'm not going to say my wife made me weak but being married and having kids, I did kind of stop the personal kill and just left things to Okoye and Adiche but these past three months have been exhilarating. These past three months have reminded me of the monster I was once, the man who was feared by all, the elder whose name once mentioned people would shake in their boots. It feels good to be back, very few elders and mistresses remain and today we have a meeting at the mansion before I fly to Cape Town to celebrate the twins.

"I called this meeting because Elders and mistresses are dropping like flies," A mistress says, Adi steals a look at me but I don't react and keep my attention on the mistress.

"We need answers," Raymond says. "We can't have this many people dying all at once with no explanation," he adds.

"The problem started when my wife died. Most of you have forgotten who I am, some of you here thought that just because I was grieving it was some kind of weakness but that's over now. Olayemi Ibrahim is anything but weak!" I say and nod to Adi who walks out.

"So you've been killing elders and mistresses to prove a point?" The headmistress asks angrily.

"Not really, I'm creating a safer world for my grandchildren. Any and everyone that stood beside Cathrine and now, Kwanda will know not to ever mess with me." I say and take a sip of my drink. They all look at me confused. "Oh, you thought I didn't know that some of you here have been plotting to remove me from my post." I say with a chuckle. "This entire world would not exist without me, it would not be what it is today without me. You all ought to thank me, in fact, you all ought to bow down before me for building you a safety net!" I yell and the room goes dead silent. Adi walks in pushing Kwanda who is in chains.

"Why do you have Okoye's wife in chains?" Raymond asks.

"Kwanda would you like to do the honours?" I ask her and she doesn't respond and looks down. "This woman before you went behind my back and plotted with the woman who took my grandchildren. She schemed with my enemies trying her level best to bring me down, for what? Her weak husband who betrayed me every little chance he got? Okoye died because he couldn't be loyal to me, his loyalty was selective and that is why I gave him to Khaya and Shadow to kill him. he deserved to die, my only regret is that I didn't kill him with my own bare hands. How I would have enjoyed that," I say and Kwanda takes a step towards me gritting her teeth at me in anger but Adiche holds her in place with the chain. "With that being said, we are not here for her trial, she's dead anyway," I say and the mistresses look at me confused, I chortle, "Let me explain. Kwanda's children together with Brianna have been sold off and they are the last people to be sold off before we change the way this place is run," I say and people gasp in shock and some go silent. Kwanda tries to fight off the chain Adiche is holding growling and gritting her teeth cursing at me with whatever word comes to mind but I laugh her off unbothered. She brought back this monster. She has no one to blame but herself.

"You cannot sell her children. Adeyemi's rule is supposed to be different," Raymond says.

"Adeyemi is busy being a father, while he father's his children, Adaego and I rule for him until he is ready to take over." I say and just then Adae walks in. "We couldn't have done this without you Adae," I say and raise a glass to her. She smiles and nods.
