Author's Pov [Trigger warning: Mentioning of Suic*de]
It's been a week since their visit to the mall. Everything is going well. But there is something wrong with Elizabeth. She has been acting weird which didn't get unnoticed by Anne and Mark. They have been keeping an eye on her. She is not eating her food properly and is always the first one to leave the dining table, not talking to anyone, and answering only when needed. They have noticed it all.
Mark has no idea why his sister is doing that but Anne knows. She knows her sister and how jealous she gets when she is not the center of attention. Anne knew there will be a time when this will become a big issue. The only thing she didn't know was, this matter will take a different turn, shocking everyone.
"This is so yummy"Elena moans in delight as she eats the steak made by her mother. Amora laughs at her. Everyone was eating peacefully when,
"Why are you not eating, Eliza?" Elena questions as she looks at her. Eliza was staring down her at her plate, holding her fork tightly and just thinking.
She looks up at Elena and her stare hardens, "My name is Elizabeth, not Eliza" She says.
Elena looks down, not liking her tone. She nods her head slowly. Amora frowns at her daughter's behavior.
"Be nice, Elizabeth" Amora says, her voice rising. Eliza stands up from the chair and slams her hand on the floor, loudly. Everyone flinches back at the sound.
"I am not going to be nice to her. I don't like her" she says. Amora comes towards her daughter and stares at her in disbelief.
"She is just a child, a little girl," She says. Elizabeth scoffs and crosses her arms over her chest.
"Child child child! So what? She will get all the love?" Eliza questions. Amora shakes her head, disappointed at her daughter.
"I can't believe you're saying something like that" Amora exclaims.
"Of course, you don't. You don't even know your own daughter. You only care about this...adopted one" Elizabeth says, her anger rising. Suddenly, Amora slaps her.
Someone gasps from behind. Amora opens her mouth to say something but nothing comes out. She stare at her hand which was stinging a little.
Tears roll down Elizabeth's cheeks, her eye now red. She places her hand where her mother slapped her.
"You care so much about her that you even slapped your own daughter. I wish you cared about me like that. I wish you all cared about me. I used to be your princess but the moment she came, you all turned your attention to her. Never asked about me. Do you know that...that I am depressed? Thinking about suicide? No? Oh, yea! You have another daughter to take care of. The cute daughter. You don't need me, you all are too occupied with your new daughter" She says, her voice cracking and her face red. Everyone stares at her in shock.
Different emotions going through them. Amora backs away, her mouth open wide. She couldn't believe it, her daughter was so desperate for her love and she just ignored her. Amora takes a step toward Elizabeth, she wanted to Apologize but Elizabeth steps back and runs out, towards the main door.
