Aiden and Kai have been training for weeks now. Getting prepared for when they go out and kill every single infected out there. They both absolutely despise them.
Aiden and Kai get a clear answer from the lieutenant, "Out there."
They both are about to go out on their mission when they see the bunker door open up. Two of their squad mates rush in. The first one, a young woman they've already met named Sarah rushes in and says, "We've got an uninfected survivor!"
The second one, a young man they both only just met, but have already come to like. Oscar yells "He's right here, Sir!"
They follow the two soldiers into a small room adjacent to the bunker's armory. There is a man lying on the ground with a massive head wound.
Lieutenant calls out, "I want a full report on him, when you get back, understood?"
Sarah takes out a first aid kit and gets right to work on the man.Aiden was about to go back out to his mission until Sarah starts to talk.
"We need to get his head stitched up. You understand first aid, right Aiden?"
"Of course I do," Aiden replies in an authoritative voice. "Let me have a look."
Sarah hands Aiden a sterile needle and a couple of surgical gauze pads. Aiden proceeds to use them to stitch up the man's head wound. After the lieutenant and the others leave he gives the man a quick check over, he needs some more bandages. Sarah hands him the ones she found in the armory. The man is awake and asks, "What's happening? Why am I here?"
Aiden replies, "Two of my squad members found you injured. This is a safe place you are in so don't leave no matter what. Do you remember anything that has happened before you were unconscious?"
The man says, "I remember walking out to do some scavenging and then I woke up here."
Kai joins the conversation, "Is it possible you were delirious when you found yourself here? Or you may have had a head injury before that makes you remember things in a different order?"
Kai has always been good with words every time he's very serious about something.
The man replies, "I don't know but right now I'm hungry and thirsty. I'm weak and I have a terrible headache."
Aiden quickly gives the man some water. He thanks you and drinks it eagerly.Sarah hands the man a MRE. He immediately tears it open and starts eating.
"Do you think he might be infected?" Kai muttered to Aiden, making sure the guy didn't hear.
"There's a possibility. He's not showing any signs though. But if he were infected, we wouldn't be in a great spot right now." Aiden stared at the guy who was eating.
The door's quickly opened as the Lieutenant stepped through. "Aiden, Kai, you both need to guard the outside. Stanley is on break. Sarah," Sarah turned all of her attention to him. "Get that guy to the Medical room, now."
"Yes Sir!" They all said in unison.
Sarah immediately got to work while Aiden and Kai walked outside.
"It's freezing out here." Kai shuttered a little.
"I know right. I can't believe we have to stand out here until Stanley is back." Aiden rubbed his hands together to warm them up.
"He better not take long." Kai looked around. "Who's Stanley anyways?" He asked.
"I don't know. Do you know how there was an empty bed last night?"
"Yeah."
"I think that was his. I didn't see a guy named Stanley. He's kind of suspicious."
"True, true."
